Pay Transparency:

Responsibilities
Interprets blueprints along with 3D models to develop NC programs, design fixturing, plan machining sequences, and operate CNC machines to produce precision components.
MultiAxis programming with industry Software for CAD/CAM such as MasterCam.
Creates safe workholding methods and plans for work coordinates or tooling before any machine operations.
Set up, operation and programing of a wide range of component sizesto deliver parts to meet internal deadlines or quality requirements.
Operate shop-related machines and equipment such as band saws, hand tools, and measuring equipment when preparing material.

Main position objectives
The main operation for the Machining Floater is the operational skills of a Braze Technician. This candidate is responsible for cross-training in different areas of the machine shop including but not limited to EDM operation, Manual Lathe, Knee Mill, Die Plate Inspection, Die Plate return, etc.
Position description - Tasks, responsibilities, competencies
• Read and interpret blueprints
• Set up and operate CNC Mills and Lathes including Manual Machines on the shop floor.
• Establish zero and reference points for each part to be machined.
• Understand work holding systems with Manual and automated machines.
• Reading and understanding blueprints
• Be able to read specific measuring tools related to the work area (i.e. micrometers, depth mics, calipers)
• Work from set-up sheets from programmers
• Understand the efficient use of each machine on the floor.
• Install machining programs into the machine.
• Send correct offsets to each tool being used.
• Establish zero and reference points for each part to be machined.
• Monitor and replace worn tools as needed.
• Dimensionally and visually inspect the product to ensure the product meets all print and customer requirements.
• Other tasks as assigned by the manager.

Work Environment
• Work in this position is in a machine shop environment. The employee may be exposed to airborne particles, metal shavings, sharp cutting tools, and moving mechanical parts. PPE and hearing protection are always required including the use of Steel Toed Shoes.
