Job Description Rotating Machinery Services, Inc (RMS Inc.) is seeking a qualified Manual Machinist to work 1st shift and perform a variety of machining practices involved in turning, milling, drilling, threading operations, etc. They perform a detailed incoming inspection using micrometers and other fine measurement tools, learn to draw prints based on their findings and make recommendations on necessary critical repairs. As well rounded machinists and fabricators they are able to select and operate the proper machine shop tools to remove damaged babbitt and prepare the bearing for repair. They may also use raw materials, welding tools, flame spraying, or electrical test equipment to manufacture, alter or test components as part of the process. During the babbitting process they move the part to our custom foundry where they apply new babbitt using various casting techniques.
