Our Data Center Operations team has an opportunity to join our 3rd Shift leadership team. As an Operations Manager, you will manage a team of 3 computer operators. This team is responsible for ensuring that the nightly bank processing is completed. If there are errors or issues with processing the team will work with our support staff to address those issues. This manager will have the flexibility to work remotely from the Allen TX area, but need the ability to travel to the Allen Data Center and offices as needed.
What you'll be responsible for:

•Allocates resources and alters workflow priorities be analyzing and understanding significant deadlines, checkpoints, peak volumes, and overall workload.
•Develops and maintains spreadsheets to provide the necessary volumes for customer billing.
•Conducts annual customer billing audits.
•Proactively monitors the growth of the data center and ensure equipment and resources are adequate to support additional business.
•Communicates with the customer to make them aware of problems and or changes.
•Manages or directly supervises the coordination of new customer installation on the data center. Work closely with the IPM and appropriate departments to schedule critical activities and ensure milestones are met.
•Assist with documenting, updating, and changing processing methods including Disaster Recovery functions.
•Manages all equipment in a manner that provides a high level of service to all customers.
•Develops, maintains, and enforces all policies, procedures, and standards pertaining to the center. Plans coordinates, and ensures the department receives unqualified audit reports for all internal and external audits. Performs or directly supervises all security officer responsibilities.
•May perform other job duties as assigned.

What you'll need to have:

•Minimum of 7 years of experience working in a technical capacity with the IBMi series.
•Precious leadership experience as a team lead, supervisor, or manager.
•Must have the ability to work onsite in Allen TX as required.
•Must be able to work the third shift and extended hours as required. Typical hours will be 9:00 pm-6:00 am Central.

Denver Health computer operations manager job description

Provides management and direction Network Operating Systems and Servers supporting the data environment. Provides scalable data solutions for clinical and campus environments and directs team members on complex projects, to include: Server and Network Operating Management solutions, data integrity solutions, Management and Reporting solutions and other digital design implementations, coordinates technical and procedural documentation, disaster recovery planning/testing, and system monitoring tools. Supervises System Support and Data Operations personnel. Develops Windows, Unix and VMS operating systems policies, procedures, standards and ensure their conformance within information systems and Denver Health objectives. Directs work with internal customers, vendors, and internal support personnel to achieve maximum server and equipment availability in a critical need 7x24 environment. Manages the Server Support and Operations staff in procedural, priority and goal setting, project management, support operations, internal/external customer service, and short/mid/long range planning. Manages two data centers, power, cooling and networking.
Responsibilities


•Maintains the integrity and reliability of the Server hardware and software-operating environment. •Maintains the Denver Health server systems and related sub-environments to ensure a continuous, smooth, and seamless operation and strives to meet department performance measures of 99.99% systems availability. •Supervises members of the Server Project team, in performing project management and technology implementations. •Makes recommendations on the input for design, implementation, and documentation of the Denver Health data systems environment. •Provides reporting on network status, IS projects, physical and equipment inventory, policies, procedures, and disaster recovery as directed by senior IS management. •Enforces best practices and department guidelines at all times. •Supervises the testing, prototyping and installation of new and upgraded server platforms on many different operating systems including NT, Novell, Unix and VMS systems. •Supervises the testing, prototyping and installation of new and upgraded server platforms for many different database systems including Access, SQL, Oracle, and FoxPro. •Monitors and ensures smooth installations of server hardware and software components and the continued integrity of the server operating environment with minimal impact on the end user community. •Ensures all Server and associated systems have preventative maintenance accomplished in a planned and timely manner. •Coordinates and conducts Monthly Maintenance. •Identifies actual/potential problems; utilizes innovative problem solving techniques; exhibits commitment to problem resolution and provides follow up. •Mentors and supports direct reports in standardizing continuous quality improvement at the unit level. •Participates in quality improvement activities; assists in maintaining compliance with JCAHO accreditation and others internal and external regulatory standards. •Chairs the change control weekly department meeting and strictly enforces change control/'process management as defined by the CTO and CIO •Prepares staff meetings as required to support and direct team efforts efficiently. •Prepares project plans and assign tasks to the Server Support Team members on assigned projects. •Provides supervision, career planning, and coaching to the Server Team staff. •Conducts personnel evaluations in a timely manner as dictated by company policy. •Develops test plans to ensure data backup integrity. •Provides test data reports to management as proof of restore viability. •Directs Server project team in the design and implementation of overall systems security strategies. •Adheres to security guidelines and implement security policies as outlined by Denver Health senior management. •Enforces security and directs periodic audits of the client server systems environment to ensure security and limit abuse/misuse/fraud/hacking. •Continuously maintains an awareness of security threats in the wild and act accordingly to ensure that the data environment is always protected. •Reviews and approves personnel matters pertaining to interviews, hires, and training for new employees in partnership. •Reviews provision for staff development, training, and orientations as prescribed by JCAHO and DHHA standards and ensures compliance. •Ensures all company and department specific orientation and competency validation guidelines are followed before start of work assignments, and the full hospital orientation is completed within thirty days. •Coordinates with the CTO for daily activities and assigned project status. •Coordinates with team members the schedules and work efforts for project related tasks. •Uses appropriate communication methods to support on-going goals and objectives of the department. •Ensures solid communication with all IT teams, to include applications, telecommunications, network, projects and security. •Coordinates support and warranty efforts with vendors in order to provide maximum system availability, assist with project management, and cost management. •Other duties as assigned.

Must have a minimum of 2 years' experience in manager/supervisory role with multiple direct reports in a demanding, fast paced, technical support department with a proven track record of successful leadership. Proficiency and experience with Microsoft technologies essential. Or; a suitable mix of education and experience based on proven performance.
