Computer scientist job description

Resolute is hiring a cleared Computer Scientist who likes to think outside the box and work with a large variety of technologies. You will be primarily performing embedded and reverse engineering working with a small team of engineers supporting several operational missions.
Required experience/skill:
7+ years of experience in embedded engineering working on Unix/Linux Operating Systems. Extensive Experience using technologies such as C and assembly. Elicit user and system requirements and document requirements in a Concept of Operations (ConOps) document. Design modular software systems for maximum reuse and maintainability. Document system designs within a High Level Design (HLD) document. Plan and develop system integration tests and document test strategy in a formal Test Plan document. Use a software integrated development environment (IDE) such as Visual Studio, Eclipse or similar IDE. Develop and execute unit tests. Maintain code in a software version repository such as subversion, CVS, or similar tool. Report progress via accepted communication channels such as email, wild and/or a schedule tracking application. Knowledge of TCP/IP network protocols or SQL programming. Knowledge in software compilers, operating system architecture, and/or device drivers. Document component designs within a High Level Design (HLD) document. Plan and develop component integration tests.

Dobbs Defense Solutions is seeking a Computer Scientist- Principal to perform professional assignments in the general area of computer hardware, software, and firmware such as: computer system protocol analysis, computer operations, programming, database structuring and management, and T&E of C5ISR,AIS, and IT/NSS. Demonstrates expertise in a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complex tasks. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Leads and directs the work of others. Typically reports to top management or executives. May provide consultation on complex projects and be a top-level contributor/specialist. Must be expert at problem solving, identifying risk, and communicating results and recommendations.

Duties

• Requires thorough knowledge of recent developments and technologies in the specialty area, as well as proficiency in high- level languages
• Define system requirements based on user/client needs, cost, and required integration with existing applications, systems, or platforms
• Design new solutions or recommends improvements to existing implementations
• Responsible for designing and developing technical standards and functionality tests for new capabilities
• Responsible for the development of specifications, prototypes, or initial user guides

• Responsibilities may include specific software code development and maintenance, and the development, documentation, and maintenance of test automation in accordance with quality assurance standards

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

• Doctorate and at least 4 years of experience
• Master’s degree or At least 10 years of experience

The degree must be in a relevant technical curriculum and experience must be related to the job duties.

Required Clearance:

• Secret
