Data Science and Computer Vision Science are the heart of our products at Orbital Insight. We live at the intersection of all our company's engineering, product, partnerships, and solution engineering efforts. As a manager in our Model Engineering team, you will have the opportunity to lead and grow a group of world-class Computer Vision Scientists. You will partner with engineers, data scientists, product managers, other business leaders throughout our organization, and our customers to support ongoing product development and innovation here at Orbital Insight. QualificationsBS degree in a STEM field (e.g. statistics, machine learning, computer science, physics, engineering) MS or PhD preferred 5+ years of industry experience in Computer VisionExperience in using Deep Learning for object detection, classification, and segmentation tasks Experience in applying these techniques to overhead imagery (satellite and other aerial imagery) a big plus3+ years experience coding Computer Vision models in Python that live in production systems Familiarity with frameworks like Pytorch/Tensorflow and other tools such as MLFlow/TensorboardPrior experience working with a team of high-performing computer vision scientists Prior experience with Agile development methodologies and Lean principles in an innovation-focused environment Prior experience leading a technical development team, including coaching ICs, setting goals and expectations

Conducts research and support aligned with Argonne's strategic missions in computation. Conducts work in computational science and leadership computing and promotes findings through publications, presentations, program reports, software dissemination and other means of reporting outcomes. Contributes to discovery and technological advances in domain science, with emphasis on the applications of exascale (and beyond) computer architectures, e.g., to address data architecture challenges and algorithm implementation challenges of high-performance simulations. Strengthens career path opportunities by applying new techniques, developing independent research capabilities and building professional skills such as communication, networking and leadership.
**Position Requirements**

+ Knowledge of computational science needs in areas of biology, climate science, or other areas of domain science.

+ Considerable skill in developing code with languages such as c, c++, fortran, python, learning frameworks.

+ Experience developing high performance scientific capabilities.

+ Performance tuning or performance modeling experience is a plus.

+ Experience using high performance computers for modeling/simulation is required.

+ Experience using leadership computers or participating in computer co-design is a plus.

+ Ability to contribute as a peer in team software development efforts, adhering to team practices and goals, is required.

Classification Title: End User Computing Spec II Job Description:

Provides Tier-2 hardware and operating system support for end-user computing equipment including workstations, printers, scanners, mobile devices, and specialty computing devices that interface with clinical or research equipment

Provides Tier-1 support for telephony, network, and audio-visual devices or services; includes standard configuration and/or troubleshooting steps as documented in process documentation and the knowledgebase; escalates unresolved incidents to the appropriate Tier-2 support team

Provides Tier-2 support for enterprise and unit-level applications that support clinical, educational, research, and administrative functions; includes client installation and configuration, basic functionality troubleshooting, and assistance with application features or interfaces

Performs break/fix functions for desktops, laptops, printers, and other devices; documents all work and processes in service management systems; performs initial hardware and software setup and reimages production systems; provides customers guidance and instruction on the use of hardware and software; contributes to the improvement of workflow processes, knowledge support systems, and IT provided services through active participation in team meetings; and participates in technical and customer service training initiatives and inter-team technical projects as directed

Expected Salary:

$19.16 - $23.94 per hour

Minimum Requirements:

Associate's degree and two years of appropriate experience; or a high school diploma and four years of appropriate experience. Appropriate college coursework may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Demonstrated knowledge of current Windows and/or Mac OS X operating systems
