Cost accounting clerk job description

The purpose of the Cost Accounting Clerk is to calculate product costs for each production run, track raw material lots and finished goods inventory, and monitor product yields.Accounts Payable and receiving inventory into stock in ERP system.
Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities


Calculate product costs for each production run.Product costs are calculated for all fresh and further processed products. Track both raw material and further processed lots in inventory.This includes the tracking of material throughout the process such as fresh raw material sent to copackers for further processing.Ensure that standard yields are being met. Verify items going to storage, freezer, and cooler against warehouse receipts. Maintain constant communication with copackers to ensure data is entered in a timely manner into the accounting software. Attach production lotted inventory to AR invoices after finishing production process Enter Accounts Payable for vendors as well as entering receipt of inventory into ERP system stock.



Minimum Education and Experience



AA degree in Accounting or a related discipline and 4 plus years of related experience. The ideal candidate will also have: Strong reading, communication, math, writing and analytical skills. Office administration, clerical and computer skills with a working knowledge of Excel, Pivot Tables, Word, and other office software
