PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Build crates and pallets for completed products and package sign components.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

Build crates, pallets, put cardboard boxes together, and package any items needed.

Crate and package sign products as they reach completion stage for shipment.


Ensure all items included on the shipping list are crated or packaged with product.

Assemble and package sign faces, flat cut outs, channel letters, cabinets, LED's, metal, and plastics.

Make sure that all electric signs are tagged with UL and electrical output labels.

Ability to open blueprints and job travelers on computer.

Assist other shop associates on process improvements and problem-solving.

Inform Production Supervisor or Plant Manager of key problems or areas of concern.

Maintain a safe working environment in the department and assist in the enforcement

Assist in emptying trash and recycle bins as needed.

Requirements

Ability to do basic math (add, subtract, multiply, divide), and to read a tape measure.

Ability to use hand tools and small power tools (hammer, drill, chop saw, table saw, skill saw, staple gun, nail gun, banding and spray foam machine in a safe manner.

Ability to communicate in English through oral and written communication.

Ability to lift or move 50-100 pounds with or without mechanical assistance.

Effective communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Working knowledge of materials and methods used in sign fabrication preferred.

Ability to learn new “lean concepts” and maintain “5-S Audits”.

Knowledge of safety policies, practices, and regulations.

Ability to perform multiple duties at a time.

WORKING CONDITIONS

The team member is subject to high levels of noise. Hearing protection is recommended and required for certain job functions.

The work is completed 90% of the time in an indoor manufacturing environment.

Shift schedule is day shift, Monday through Friday.

Team members may be required to work overtime as needed, including Saturday.
