Job Description Crescent Child Development Services, LLC is seeking applicants for an available ABA therapy position working in our North Charleston clinic, local private schools and community/home settings. Both entry-level applicants and experienced Registered Behavior Technicians will be considered for available employment opportunities working1:1 with children 2 to 18 years of age with autism spectrum disorders.
The Crescent Mission is to create a positive difference and significantly improve the quality of life of children and young adults with autism spectrum disorders and other developmental delays by providing effective, high-quality and affordable ABA therapy across environments, based on individual client needs. We are committed to providing culturally sensitive and appropriate care to a diverse population and establishing cooperative partnerships through trust, respect and communication with each client and their family.
Clients are seen in our North Charleston clinic, schools, daycares, other community locations and in some instances, their homes.
Duties
ABA therapy jobs entail providing instruction in cognitive areas as well as communication, socialization, play skills, motor development, and self-help skills while focusing on behavioral improvement across domains. Those new to the field will receive training to become a Registered Behavior Technician and will need to successfully complete the training over the first three months of employment to assure continued employment. Employment is hourly, W-2, with therapy provided in our North Charleston clinic, daycares, schools, community environments, and/or the client's home.
Therapist schedules are developed based on therapist/client availability and the distance of clients from the therapist's home.
Therapists are thoughtfully assigned to clients based on skills and personality.
Starting hourly wage will be commensurate with experience, dedication and pursuit of advanced training and educational background. Opportunities for advancement, eligibility for 401K and consideration for salaried positions are available with continued employment.
Summer Employment, Internships and BCBA/BCaBA supervision will be considered.
Requirements
Candidates must have reliable transportation, internet access and have or complete certification in First Aid/CPR and a current PPD test paid for by Crescent.
Minimal education requirement for the position is a high school diploma or GED. Federal/state background, reference and child abuse registry checks will be completed prior to formal offer of employment.

Work of this nature requires a love of children, maturity, dependability, independence in completing work assignments, flexibility, good communication skills, ability to work as a part of a team and a willingness to learn. Entry-level applicants particularly well suited for this type of employment include those with nanny/teaching experience or pursuing degrees in education, psychology or other health related professions. Experience in these areas is welcome, but not necessary. Training and behavioral programming will be provided as well as consistent supervision, consultation and ongoing training by senior level staff and BCBA/BCaBAs.
Provision of supervision and participation in a training program to become a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) will be provided.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES, FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Patrol and Surveillance: Conduct regular patrols of the campus grounds, parking lots, and buildings on foot or in a patrol vehicle to deter criminal activity, detect safety hazards, and ensure the security of doors, windows, and gates.
Access Control: Monitor and control access to college buildings and facilities during and after business hours, including admitting authorized personnel and visitors.
Emergency Response: Respond to alarms, disturbances, and emergency situations, including medical emergencies, by following established protocols. This includes administering basic first aid/CPR, if certified, and contacting appropriate emergency services (e.g., police, fire department, EMS).
Incident Reporting: Observe and document all incidents, accidents, suspicious activities, and violations of college policy. Prepare detailed and accurate reports in a timely manner.
Public Assistance: Provide assistance to the college community, including giving directions, providing escorts, and offering lockout services. Maintain a visible and approachable presence to answer questions and address concerns.
Traffic and Parking Enforcement: Direct traffic and enforce parking regulations as needed, particularly during special events.

Perform dispatch or administrative assistant responsibilities, fire prevention responsibilities, train new officers and student workers, attend meetings, research and conduct safety presentations on campus.
Participate in required training to include any methods of instruction such as, but not limited to: lecture, practical hands-on training including first aid, self-defense, firearms, pepper spray, tactical training, and computer based training.
Qualifications:
Must be a graduate of the Police Academy and certified in the State of Ohio; three years prior experience in Law Enforcement preferred.
Must possess and maintain a current Ohio Peace Officer Training Commission certificate in good standing with the State of Ohio. Must maintain all required certifications. Must possess and maintain a valid Ohio driver's license. Current driver's license record must not reflect six points or more.
Able to occasionally work overtime, change shifts, work special duty events, be called in while off duty for a crisis/manpower on campus.
Excellent oral and written communication required; ability to handle sensitive information and maintain high level of confidentiality
Must demonstrate sound judgment and appropriate decision making skills; initiative, independence, judgement, and flexibility with ability to maintain effective working relationships in academic and law enforcement environment; ability to read and understand a map.

Protective Services

Secure (lock and unlock) campus facilities per directives. Conduct security and safety checks and patrols of all buildings and campus grounds.

Observe weather conditions on and around campus property and report dangerous or unusual weather-related activity to management for timely response and communication.
Respond to and manage all emergencies and disasters on campus.
Enforcement Services

Enforce traffic and parking regulations within Converse's jurisdiction. Assist campus and local law enforcement with all traffic control needs such as necessary including directing traffic, posting signage, setting and removal of traffic cones and barricades and more.
Conduct arrests and issue trespasses according to departmental policies and SLED regulations.
Investigate complaints and violations of university policy and South Carolina law within Converse's jurisdiction and patrol area. This may include viewing camera footage, talking with witnesses, capturing and handling of evident and writing of incident reports.
Complete and submit appropriate and timely reports for all complaints and activities including but not limited to accidents, injuries and criminal activities. Testify in court as necessary.
Community Services
Render first aid and life support techniques when necessary.
Proactively implement the department's community policy program.
Interact positively with campus community members on a daily basis and assist members in identifying potential safety and/or criminal problems.
Provide excellent customer service to all university students, faculty, staff and visitors.
Provide direction, escorts and other assistance to students, faculty, staff and visitors as needed.
