ACCOUNTABILITIES + Demonstrates knowledge and skill to utilize computerized tomography equipment by selecting proper technical factors based on age, size, weight, and anatomical differences and general health status of various age groups. Critiques images for diagnostic quality. + Utilizing proper radiation protection accessory devices and age-appropriate immobilizers to produce high quality CT scans under the philosophy of A.L.A.R.A. + Under the direction of a physician demonstrates knowledge and ability to administer and document contrast and IV contrast according to standards for patients of all ages. Maintains proficiency in venipuncture and IV contrast safety. Assists radiologist and physicians in the performance of diagnostic CT procedures with patients of all ages performing support functions. + Demonstrates competency in the use of general radiographic equipment and in physical comfort measures and psychosocial issues when giving care to include neonate, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients: + Demonstrates the ability and knowledge to identify educational needs, obtain patient history, and provide information in easily understood terminology with clear communication style about procedures and care to patients of various ages. Determines appropriateness of procedure based on the above. + Maintains departmental equipment and facilities in a safe and clean condition. Reports equipment malfunctions. Assists in training and evaluating new CT associates and students. + Demonstrates competency in the physical comfort measures and psychosocial issues when giving care to include neonate, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Demonstrates prominent level of care, courtesy, and cooperation. Educates patients about their procedures and ensures patients and their families' comfort and needs are appropriately addressed in a dignified, confidential manner. + Demonstrates awareness of safety standards for self and assigned area. Under the direction of a physician demonstrates knowledge and ability to administer and document contrast and IV contrast according to standards for patients of all ages. Maintains proficiency in venipuncture and IV contrast safety. Assists radiologist and physicians in the performance of diagnostic CT procedures with patients of all ages performing support functions. Demonstrates competency in the use of general radiographic equipment and in physical comfort measures and psychosocial issues when giving care to include neonate, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients: Demonstrates the ability and knowledge to identify educational needs, obtain patient history, and provide information in easily understood terminology with clear communication style about procedures and care to patients of various ages. Determines appropriateness of procedure based on the above. Maintains departmental equipment and facilities in a safe and clean condition. Reports equipment malfunctions. Assists in training and evaluating new CT associates and students. The X- Ray Tech will work within their scope of license to provide patient and provider assistance along with quality diagnostic images for all patients. This position is responsible for Imaging Patients ordered by the provider on staff, along with Medical Assistant duties as needed on your daily shift, including but not limited to taking vitals, lab tests, phlebotomy, lab resulting, taking proper histories, and charting. This position requires a working knowledge of and adherence to Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations. Job Duties: Taking Quality Xray images as ordered by the provider Triage patients according to Local MD Clinical policy, including but not limited, to taking vitals, updating patient demographic or insurance information, and providing written documentation to enable clear communication with Providers regarding patient issues. Perform clinic procedures/duties according to On Local MD Clinical policy policies and procedures. Assist Providers with procedures. Accurately document patient information in the patient's electronic medical record. Complete patient charting within the scope of license. Clean/disinfect back-office areas according to scheduled maintenance program and document in appropriate records. Assist in inventory and stocking processes for facility. Manage inventory of supplies; restocking exam/procedure rooms. Sanitize laboratory bathrooms after each patient use. Call patients with lab results. Clean/restock examination rooms to prepare for each patient. Sanitize back-office surfaces with high patient contact. Assists front office registration at start of patient encounter, including collecting insurance information and additional payment information from patient during their visit as necessary Attend Medical Assistant meetings and all required staff meetings.
