A DAY IN THE LIFE AS A JUNIOR DESIGNER
As a Junior Designer for us, you help in our paint centers to assist our customers with color choices and finishes. In addition, you also sell wallpaper, window treatments, rugs, and fabric. You are kept busy with various tasks, from keeping our paint center showrooms neat and clean, handling telephone calls, greeting and helping clients in the store, handling point-of-sale transactions, and creating purchase orders for products. You use your excellent customer service skills every day and are smart and tasteful with your design guidance. This position requires the incumbent to sell paint, and paint accessories, keep shelves stocked, and deliver materials to contractors, builders and homeowners. The right candidate will be flexible and adaptable to the changes that quickly affect this job. Exceptional customer service and problem solving skills are a must as well as a clean driving record as the job does require travel between stores as well as to customers homes. Fluent in English and Spanish is a plus! You feel accomplished using your knowledge and skills to help our clients!
QUALIFICATIONS

Drywall Hanging, Finishing & Painting Professional - (Must have experience with both drywall and painting)
We are seeking a detail-oriented drywall hanging, finisher, and painter to join our team. As a drywall finisher and painter, your duties will include sealing joints, repairing cracks, and smoothing imperfections on walls and ceilings to create surfaces that are suitable for final treatment followed by painting all areas. You should also ensure that all supplies are used safely.
To be successful as a drywall finisher and painter, you should be able to complete tasks efficiently while maintaining a high quality of work. Ultimately, an excellent drywall finisher and painter will utilize sound techniques to produce high-quality drywall finishes and painting on time.
Drywall Hanging & Finisher Responsibilities:
- Joining drywall panels using tape and plaster.
- Repairing cracks and any other damage to the drywall panels.
- Concealing any imperfections or exposed irregularities in the drywall surface.
- Layering plaster or spackle with trowels to create a flat surface.
- Sanding down rough areas on the wall to create a smooth surface.
- Skimming the surface with a final layer of plaster in preparation for finishing work.
- Managing and maintaining all the required equipment for the job.
- Keeping your supervisor abreast of your progress and reporting any job-related issues.
- Ensuring that all equipment and materials are used safely and effectively.
Painter Responsibilities:
- Preparing painting surfaces by washing walls, repairing holes, or removing old paint
- Mixing, matching, and applying paints and other finishes to various surfaces
- Providing decorative and faux finishes as the project requires
- Handling planning and prep work in an efficient manner
- Preparing the surrounding area by covering with cloth or plastic to prevent messes
- Moving furniture and equipment as necessary to reach the entire surface of the project

- Taping off areas as needed
- Choosing and purchasing paint, brushes, and other supplies from vendors

Drywall & Painter Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 2 years of experience as a drywall finisher and painter.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Good knowledge of the tools, materials, and methods used in drywall and ceiling finishing.
