JOB OVERVIEW: The IDEAL candidate will have 2-5 years of experience working with any of the following: Duct Work, HVAC Piping, ability to read 'specs' and drawings.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

*Produce HVAC sheet metal drawings and ductwork fabrication schedules

*Produce a coordinated model from 2D construction documents and submittals

*Produce 3D duct models for field coordination and prefabrication using the following (but not limited to) software: AutoCAD, East Coast CAD, Revit and Navisworks

*Run clash detections and produce reports

*Prepare layouts and dimension drawings

*Work closely with Project Managers, Duct Fabricators and Field contacts

*Attend and/or lead BIM Coordination meetings as necessary with other trade and General Contractors

*Receive and respond to inbound calls regarding submitted proposals

*Extensive usage of Email and Phone.

*Produce rooftop equipment location drawings and wall sleeve location drawings

WORK SCHEDULE/COMPENSATION/BENEFITS: HOURS: Monday-Friday (8-5) @ the present time. Overtime & Flexibility to work some evenings (with notice) is highly desirable. COMPENSATION: Competitive; based on experience. PTO= PAID TIME OFF PAID HOLIDAYS

To create and coordinate level 400 plumbing models, shop and spool drawings for the purpose of
fabrication and installation.
PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS
 Experience with Revit with Fabrication, Navisworks Manage, CADMEP is mandatory.
 Ability to learn other VDC programs and add-ins where necessary.
 Ability to interpret Construction Documents and Engineering documents, identify and
issues that may arise in construction, and provide realistic solutions.
 Ability to effectively develop, coordinate, and manage plumbing models and content
with little to no supervision.
 Possess a professional demeanor when interacting with Midstate staff and staff of other
contractors and engineering firms.
 Ability to lead internal coordination meetings when necessary.
 Availability and ability to work remotely when necessary.
 Knowledge of compliance with city, state, national codes along with IPC, UPC, NFPA and IFGC codes and how to effectively interpret, adhere to, and enforce them where necessary.
 Possess an understanding of plumbing systems, fixtures, and materials, including but not limited to:
o Water supply and distribution
o Sanitary drainage
o Storm drainage
o Fuel piping
o Medical Gas
o Waste and Vent
o Condensation for HVAC equipment.
o Gas and Liquid Refrigeration
 Create shop drawings, isometrics, and schedules for distribution to field staff and project teams.
 Create spool drawings for fabrication when necessary.
 Ability to develop and assist RFI’s for any coordination/installation issues in communication with Superintendent/Project Manager of any change in scope of work.
 Ability to manage projects involving third-party production teams when necessary.
 Understanding of an Autodesk fabrication database a plus.
 Ability to effectively communicate with AEC firms, Midstate management and field staff regarding any issues during construction.
 Ability to effectively create points for Trimble layout. Previous Point Layout a plus.
 Develop an understanding and the ability to use Trimble RTS systems with FieldLink.
Previous experience a plus.
 Demonstrate willingness to learn and develop plumbing systems when necessary.
Understanding of HVAC systems and standards a plus.
 OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification is a plus.
 Previous plumbing field experience a plus.
 Ability to travel to jobsites when necessary for VDC assistance when necessary.
 Assists with hands-on training of co-workers and office staff regarding VDC topics and
other trade specific information.

QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

High School Diploma or Equivalent Preferred. Formal training in BIM/VDC/CAD highly recommended.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: BIM/VDC Autodesk programs, theories and workflows

Knowledge of the Plumbing industry. Basic understanding of assembly and installation of all types of plumbing systems both above ground and underground.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED : 3-7+ years of related experience in MEP VDC and fabrication. Field experience can be considered where appropriate.

SKILLS/ABILITIES : Well organized, accurate and attentive to detail. Excellent communications and public relations abilities. Ability to assist and support others.

WORKING CONDITIONS :

 Traditional office conditions of sedentary at desk and computer monitors.
 May encounter any hazards and extreme summer temperatures during visits to construction jobsites.
 May be required to work overtime, weekends, and non-traditional work hours depending upon the needs of the project to meet deadlines.

JOB DESCRIPTION for Design Detailer

The Design Detailer is responsible for generating 2D drawing designs for fabrication on commercial construction projects. The candidate should already possess moderate to advanced structural steel and light gauge metal knowledge, to include materials, shop fabrication and field installation. Accurately complete all paperwork associated with the position.

Job Responsibilities

In this role, you are responsible for:

+ Review Project scope, design drawings, equipment submittals, and specifications for conflicts and/ or questions in preparation for modeling/ detailing

+ Provides structural steel models and miscellaneous steel detailing for our commercial and industrial projects to include catwalks, platforms, stairs, ladders, railings, and misc. supports using current modeling and detailing

+ Adheres to applicable codes and company design standards

+ Generates documentation to be used for planning, purchasing, fabrication, lifting, and installation

+ Reviews and revises drawings based on engineering and coordination comments, fabrication needs, and field conditions

+ Assist shop and field personnel with questions and extra details as necessary

+ Maintains a clean work area.

+ Willingness to cross-train

+ Performs other related duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

The ideal candidate for this role will have the following qualifications:

+ Experience with Structural steel detailing

+ Solid experience with Auto-CAD 2D software application.

+ Knowledge of pre-engineered metal buildings a plus, but not required.

+ Knowledge of light-gauge red-oxide metal (C-channel, Hat-channel, etc.)

+ Experience in mini-storage design/drafting a huge plus.

+ Ability to research applicable building codes or other information to accurately complete construction drawings when necessary.

+ Able to use Microsoft office

+ Ability to follow instructions.

+ Ability to read, interpret, and follow product plans.

+ Basic computer and math skills.

+ High school diploma or equivalent required.

+ Auto-CAD drafting degree or certification a huge plus.

+ Personal portfolio of conceptual drawings or prior completed projects presented during interview a big plus.

+ Must be able to lift 25 pounds at a time.
