R&D Mechanic FULL-TIME

We are searching for highly motivated, technically competent, and mechanically inclined individuals to join our growing production team. In this position you will play a key role in producing the components and assemblies that make up our unique generators. You will work within our newly established Pilot Manufacturing facility in Menlo Park, collaborating with our highly talented team of mechanics and engineers to bring affordable, dispatchable and clean energy to the world. * Work with a quick-learning build and test team to help develop the next generation of high efficiency generators
* Build components and assemblies that make up our generators in accordance with procedures and build checklists in order to meet the production schedule
* Collaborate with engineers to fix, repair, and redesign components and assemblies
* Conduct mechanical inspections of test units, documenting condition information for use by our engineers
* Identify with coworkers opportunities to improve safety and productivity

4. Consult with design, manufacturing and service engineering throughout the development and field-follow process

Navistar Has a great opportunity for a Mechanic - New Product Development to support product validation on our operations team.
This position will be first shift.

Responsibilities

The individual will work closely with test engineers to support a wide range of prototype build and validation activities at the proving grounds.

The group prepares, maintains, troubleshoots, inspects, and tests prototype and current product class 5-8 trucks at NPG, as well as a wide range of customer test articles including motorhomes, RV's, utility trailers, delivery vehicles, EV's, and more.

The candidate will be required to perform all job duties safely and efficiently with minimal supervision, as well as maintain detailed and accurate documentation, and consistently keep work areas clean and organized.

This is a great opportunity to be involved in developing the next generation of trucks at Navistar and supporting emerging technologies across the transportation industry.

This position requires the candidate to work overtime as needed and occasional weekends.
