- Operate cell equipment to include die cast machines, trim presses, automatic sprayers, extraction equipment, hoists, holding furnaces, tip lubricators, hot oil units, metal loading equipment, robotics and automated equipment.
- Perform basic PM and repairs.
Die Cast Qualifications:
- Steel toed shoes required
- High School diploma/GED not required
- Must be able to bend, twist, lift
- 50 lbs. repetitively during shift
- Overtime required
- Need to be mechanically inclined with the ability to perform basic machine PMs and troubleshoot basic issues.

Diecast Operators provide support in the production of metal die cast parts ranging in weight from several ounces to over 30 pounds. This support includes the entire operation process from trimming parts to setting up machines as well as removing and installing dies and related machine parts and tending to the furnace.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
(But not limited to…)
This job includes but is not limited to the following:
* Remove gates and runner as per the work instructions and inspects parts to ensure product quality standards.
* Operate trim presses and remove excess metal
* Understand the complete knowledge of die cast process including the function of the die, gates, runners and venting systems
* Repair and troubleshoot casting machines and related equipment
* Evaluate the effects of the equipment on the quality of the parts.
* Strive to improve process to continually increase production and improve quality.
* Must continuously train to keep up with technology.
* Must follow all safety rules and policies as set forth by OSHA guidelines and Pace Industries policies and procedures as outlined in the employee manual.
* Follow the requirements of the Quality Policy, ISO/TS system, and procedures and participate in the Continuous Quality processes.
* Maintain a clean and safe work environment and report any unsafe conditions in a timely manner
* Must follow all safety rules and policies as set forth by OSHA guidelines and Pace Industries, including wearing the proper personal protective equipment (PPE)
* Perform other associated duties, functions or work as may be needed or assigned to continue the productive operation of the company.
Setup
* Perform and assist in the set up and adjustments of equipment as experience is gained

* Capable of setting up and operating die cast dies, mechanical systems, and ancillary equipment in both manual and automatic modes
* Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve to allow adjustments or corrections to ensure peak production performance
Lead
* Supports the Supervisor with production needs and works cross functionally.
* Supports with employee issues and address concerns or escalates as needed.
* Ability to train new employees on demand in all phases of die cast methods and procedures
* Works cooperatively towards problem solving and maintains commitment to continuous improvement
* Ability to set- up machines to support production process as needed
* Knowledge of all areas of die cast and capable of running machines
* Inspects casting areas at least 2 times a shift and performs gaging on operation lines as needed.
