The Design Drawing Checker will:
Support Johnson Space Center's activities on the International Space Station and space exploration. Work in a team environment to analyze requirements from the customer and develop design solutions. Review engineering drawings to ensure conformance to JPR 8500 and other applicable standards. Perform and/or review dimensional fit / tolerance analysis. Review drawings conforming to ASME Y14.5. Support project meetings and create reports. Produce/review other required design documentation. Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED:
This position requires US Citizenship or Permanent Resident status due to the sensitivity of customer related information. Education: Must have a 2 yrs in the field of vocational training , or a related field. Years of Experience: Must have 4+ years of recent and related work experience. Must have the ability to produce/review drawings conforming to ASME Y14.5. Must have experience using solid modeling CAD software including experience using PTC CREO or Pro Engineering.
PREFERRED:
Familiarization with JSC Engineering Drawing System Manual (JPR 8500). Familiarization with JSC Fabrication Tolerances and Practices (SKZ36103755). Six (6) years of experience designing and/or reviewing flight hardware and creating/reviewing drawings for NASA/JSC. Six (6) years of experience using PTC CREO or Pro Engineering.
WORK LOCATION:
This position is located onsite; no hybrid or remote working will be available for this position.
BACKGROUND INVESTIGATIONS REQUIRED:
