Join our team as a CNC Band Saw Operator, where you will work with various types of steel, processing customer orders to precise specifications. In this role, you will operate CNC band saws, handle bar stock, and ensure all products are cut, bundled, and prepared for shipment. You'll be working in a dynamic steel job shop, serving industries such as oil & gas, aerospace, and heavy construction. Key Responsibilities: Operate CNC band saws to cut steel to customer-specified lengths. Load bar stock into machines and accurately set cutting lengths. Perform pre-start inspections and handle necessary machine maintenance. Safely move and load steel using a tow motor and overhead crane. Prepare finished products for shipping and support loading/unloading tasks. Ensure high standards of quality and precision in cutting various steel alloys. Requirements: Previous experience operating CNC band saws, especially in handling thick steel. Ability to read tape measures accurately and handle steel ranging from ½” to 26” in diameter. Familiarity with tow motors and overhead cranes. Strong attention to detail, reliable attendance, and a commitment to safety. Physical ability to lift up to 60 lbs and stand for extended periods. Must pass a health screening and drug test prior to employment. Preferred Skills: Experience in a steel job shop or related environment. Proficiency in operating industrial machinery and equipment. Be able to tolerate working environments in extreme temperatures. Ability to read a tape measure and complete basic math problems. Ability to communicate well with others. Position Overview: We are looking for a skilled and organized individual to join our team as a Saw Operator/Material Handler. This dual-role position involves cutting various metals and managing materials within the shop. The ideal candidate has experience with circular saws, material handling, and operating a sit-down tow motor. Our family-run business offers a friendly, hands-on work environment and is willing to train the right candidate. Key Responsibilities: Operate a circular saw to cut metals, including steel and stainless steel, to the specified lengths. Accurately read a tape measure (to within a quarter inch) and follow work orders. Use a sit-down tow motor to load/unload trucks and move materials to/from holding areas. Maintain organized workspaces and ensure materials are properly placed. Read packing tickets for shipments and ensure accuracy in handling orders. Requirements: Experience with circular saws or sit-down tow motors; both are a plus. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to read and understand work orders and packing tickets. Comfortable working in a family-run, old-school shop environment. Safety-conscious and reliable. Work Schedule: Monday to Thursday, with overtime as needed on Fridays. Paid half-hour lunch break.
