The Business Analyst is responsible for enabling high quality business analytics solutions in an Agile context that deliver valued business outcomes and informed decisions for Zelis' key stakeholders. The Business Analyst works as part of the Scrum team to facilitate clear and open communication between Business Owners, Development, Quality Assurance, and the Product Owner. This role provides a major contribution to enhancing Zelis' overall capacity to meet the information technology needs of an ever-changing healthcare market.
Key Responsibilities:
* As an EDI and Partner Adjudication Partner Business analyst you will interact with Product Management, Development, Account Management, sales and operations as a subject matter expert
* You will gather requirements for EDI initiatives centered around EDI formats, the data elements that are received and the process to accept the claim in the door; this will require coordination between teams
* Provide documentation for software updates and existing system functionality for reference by operations
* Work closely with Product Management, Development, QA and UAT to ensure requirements are realized properly upon release to production
* Assist in providing training to operations on newly released items
* Recommend process and efficiency improvements and keep the team informed on upcoming sales & product development improvements
* Assist in managing and prioritizing a backlog of delivery items
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
* 3+ years experience in the healthcare field is required
* 5+ years of EDI and related experience, including a thorough understanding of EDI documents and specifications, standards and practices
* Understanding of the Agile methodology
* Highly organized and results driven
* Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
* Basic database skills using MS SQL
* Ability to see the big picture and learn new processes, technologies and envision how they could benefit Zelis
Communication/Project Skills:
* Project Management skills and software proficiency
* Strong group facilitation and presentation skills
* Ability to work through others without direct supervisory responsibility within departments and across the organization and with outside vendors
