Under the direct supervision of the Coordinator CT, the Technologist CT is responsible for performing computerized tomography procedures to aide in diagnosing disease or injury. Technologists work in various care settings throughout our campus.

Schedules and prepares patients for exams including coordinating procedures with Radiology, nursing units and other departments. Oversees maintenance of equipment to ensure full calibration and complete functioning. Maintains adequate inventory of supplies. Observes patient constantly to respond to any adverse reactions to ensure safety. Keeps abreast of new development in field by attending appropriate meetings/seminars and reviewing current literature. Works continually to anticipate and exceed the needs and expectations of customers. Assesses patients clinical history and performs exams appropriately by selecting proper setting to correspond to patients size, shape and clinical history Selects proper settings that best demonstrate normal anatomy and pathology and transfer from computer to PACS and/or film. Uses workstations proficiently to produce quality 3 D reconstructions. Identifies patient and properly evaluates requisition for exam to be performed. Identifies contrast and dosage and loads pressure injector using proper settings. Injects contrast material by intravenous puncture or established intravenous, under the direction of the radiologist. Ensures the safety of patients, visitors, co-workers and self, by using appropriate radiation and bloodborne pathogen precautions. Complies with all Radiology information systems (including PACS) entry requirements for accurate patient, film, supply and tracking monitors. Assists and supports the Radiologic student program, specifically the clinical aspect. Provides supervision and feedback to students as they perform procedures. Reviews images with students on request and provides quarterly evaluations of students to clinical instructions for formal reviews. Completes mandatory education and training in order to maintain organization and department specific competencies and requirements. Maintains applicable certification/licensure. Follows hospital and department policies and procedures with special attention to attendance and punctuality, confidentiality, dress code and display of ID badge, and safety. Other duties as assigned

Education:
High school graduate or the equivalent.

Certifications:
Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology. Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in computer tomography within 24 months of appointment. Current Radiology license in the State of Ohio. BLS from AHA.

Complexity of Work:
Maintains competencies specific to patient population served. Ability to work other shifts including weekends and holidays on a rotating basis.

Work Experience:
Two years experience in diagnostic Radiology in order to be eligible for onsite training in CT Scanning preferred.

NOTE:

REQUIREMENTS (EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION):

* Associate degree
* OR the equivalent of an associate degree (at least ninety-four (94) quarter credit hours or the equivalent in semester/trimester hours) with at least one three (3) hours course in each of the following: interviewing, office/information technology, basic mathematics, public relations, communications and nine (9) credit hours in English which must include basic grammar, writing skills and composition or two (2) years experience in public contact work involving interviewing and collecting, organizing, analyzing and interpreting complex data; or equivalent.
* All candidates must be able to demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills and strong interpersonal relations skills.

JOB DUTIES (SUMMARY):

* Answers incoming calls; Handles public assistance inquiries and general contacts for the Agency; provides preliminary and specialized information regarding program criteria to internal and/or external consumers; resolves issues, questions or complaints; makes appropriate referrals if necessary; assists supervisor or others in determining solutions to problems, and with maintaining program data, records and contacts.
* Interviews applicants/recipients to determine their eligibility for public assistance (i.e., Ohio Works First, Food Stamps and Medicaid), through office, home visits, and/or collateral conferences; collects comprehensive and complete data and enters into computer system(s); computes budgets; verifies all documentation submitted to support request for assistance in accordance with program guidelines; approves or denies applications; explains to participants their rights, responsibilities, required actions, and other available services through completion of the Personal Responsibility Agreement and Plan; refers participants to other services within the agency and/or the community. Initiates sanctions as instructed by contracted work activity consortium personnel.
* Receives and investigates information concerning lost, stolen or undelivered assistance checks; prepares and maintains the case including changes in address, household composition, assistance and service needs, income and resources, and other changes that effect the eligibility and status of the Personal Responsibility Agreement and Plan; notifies participants of suspension, reduction, or termination of assistance and services; refers to investigation unit cases of suspected fraud or overpayment; prepares summaries for and attends hearings upon request; process corrections in cases identified as being in error; answers inquiries either by telephone or correspondence; completes data or computer matches; completes special assignments.
* Performs other related duties as assigned.
* Attends necessary training as required.

Background checks consistent with requirements in OAC 5101:2-5-09 must be completed at employment and every ten years following, including but not limited to the following systems:

* State Automated Child Welfare Information System (SACWIS)
