Performs a wide variety of protective, investigative and courtesy duties. There are three posts within the Emergency Department, ER1, ER2 and ER3 (hours of coverage 24/7). The emergency department assigned Security Professionals need to have exceptional, gracious and empathetic ‘Customer Service' and will have control over areas of the ED. These areas include the ED front lobby, ED waiting room area, visitor bathrooms, ED parking areas, making rounds in the ambulance bay and throughout the back of the ED as specified by policies and post orders. Observes and reports for safety and security deficiencies, taking corrective action(s) or reporting same to Hospital Facilities Department and the emergency department for action(s). This position requires an individual to be able to stay on their feet for up to (8) consecutive hours, walk in and around the ED, have the physical strength to confront whatever situation presented with. This position has physically demanding and mentally challenging conditions and occasional exposure to disagreeable elements. Must be able to assist the ED in responding to all Code Gray (Combative Person) activated calls and be able to de-escalate visitors or patients that are getting verbally aggressive with the staff. ER1 must be able to stop visitors from entering the department without checking in and have the flexibility to use his or her own judgment in assisting in situations that need immediate attention.

Position Purpose:
Facilitate, coordinate and supervise all components of emergency services. Provide and monitor continuity of program services in an ethical, legal and moral manner within a safe and therapeutic environment, consistent with applicable regulatory and accreditation standards. Participate as a team member in the delivery of behavioral health treatment and related services to clients and their families and facilitate recovery into their daily living.
Qualifications/Basic Job Requirements:
- Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology or a related field and four years' experience in behavioral health services or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Minimum of two years direct supervisory experience
- Adequate written skills to accurately complete required documentation within the time frames prescribed
- LCSW, LCPC, or LMFT strongly preferred, and eligibility required.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Work hours prescribed by the emergency services programs and any additional hours deemed necessary for the responsibilities assigned.
- Supervision of Bachelor and Master's level staff including orientation, training, regular supervisory meetings and/or feedback, scheduled evaluations and disciplinary interventions as required.
- Serve as a liaison with referral sources, agencies and community groups in providing networking, linkage and follow-up to facilitate the delivery of services for participants.
- Consult with the Clinical Services Director to develop policies, goals, objectives and procedures for all behavioral health emergency service programs.
- Ensure all State Regulations and Rosecrance Policy and Procedures are maintained. Complete all necessary monthly and quarterly reports by appropriate time lines.
- Monitor and maintain compliance with all applicable, DMH, HFS, and TJC regulatory and accreditation standards.
- Review and evaluate incidents within the programs.
- Represent agency as a speaker to outside organizations.
- Ensure that client service records are maintained consistent with TJC, DMH, HFS, and Medicaid regulations.
- Submit written program evaluation reports.
- Ensure all emergency services programs operate within the established budget guidelines.
- Oversee maintenance of physical plants and vehicles.
- Assume responsibility for the physical maintenance of the facility and request necessary repairs or services from the Clinical Service Director or Environmental Services.
- Serve as a member of the emergency services teams and participate in team meetings and activities.
- Available 24 hours a day in case of emergencies.
- Understand and comply with all of the principles established by the Rosecrance Corporate Compliance Program and Code of Conduct.
- Deliver exceptional customer service consistently to every customer.
