Engineering model maker skills for your resume and career
7 engineering model maker skills for your resume and career
1. CNC
CNC stands for Computer Numerical Control. It is a subtractive manufacturing technique that usually uses computerized controls and machine tools to strip layers of material from a stock piece.
- Verify and calibrate accuracy of CNC equipment using Hewlett Packard Laser measurement system.
- Analyzed and revised CNC programs utilizing Predator software.
2. Prototype
A prototype is a model or sample of a product, created prior to its release with the goal of testing the product and observing its behavior and effectiveness in use. The results of this testing are then used to further alter and improve the product in question, often redesigning it, fixing any issues which may have come up, and otherwise upgrading the already existing design.
- Conducted airflow measurements on prototype air systems using ASHRAE approved airflow chamber, made subsequent modifications as required.
- Interfaced directly with Engineers and Draftsmen in the conception, design and buildup of room air conditioner and dehumidifier prototypes.
3. Jigs
- Fabricated Jigs and Fixture for automotive assembly lines and associated industries.
- Worked with production/manufacturing engineering in designing jigs, fixtures, trade show displays, and tooling for manufacturing or sales/marketing departments.
4. R
R is a free software environment and a language used by programmers for statistical computing. The R programming language is famously used for data analysis by data scientists.
- Advanced proficiency in diverse technologies like R, R-Studio, SQL, PL/SQL.
5. Solidworks
- Applied technical engineering/drafting techniques in the preparation of orthopedic instrument drawings using SolidWorks 3D Design software and manual drafting methods.
- Implemented revision changes to existing SolidWorks design files and created prototypes for design verification.
6. CAD/CAM
- Performed all aspects of producing prototype molds including the use of CAD/CAM software to aid in design and machining.
- Operated variety of CNC equipment, programmed with Cimatron CAD/CAM software, performed inspection on parts, aided in process refinement.
7. Brazing
- Used other forms of welding such as silver soldering, brazing, and plastic welding.
- Operated precision press brakes, manual machining, turning, metal spinning, tube bending, brazing, and welding.
