Job Purpose
The Enterprise Data Architect will play a key role in shaping the new enterprise architecture environment at Graco. This role creates, evolves and governs the future state data architecture, providing direction for other architectural roles. Essential Duties

Position Requirements
Education

Experience

As an enterprise architect, you'll work to ensure architecture cohesiveness and drive alignment to both business and technology objectives for initiatives that span multiple product areas and/or LOBs. You'll have a broad view of products, technologies, processes, and data and how they should work together to deliver business value.
This enterprise architect role is under the Self-Sovereign Cloud (SSC) technical pillar that is responsible for sandbox type cloud environments that allows the technical communities across Discover to accurately test and evaluate various cloud services. A key component in order to allow these sandbox environments to produce meaningful results will be to have the proper data sourced and controlled in these environments. This senior level architect will be responsible for the overall data architecture and modeling within these temporary cloud environments to help support evaluation and innovation initiatives at Discover. In order to be successful at this role, you will need to have had experience with various data architectures as well as have experience sourcing, controlling and tracking data across various types of environments. Your main goal in this role will be to work across Product Teams in order to determine the various data requirements and determine the best method in order to populate the sandbox environments with the most accurate data and ensure the data is tracked and controlled in order to minimize the risk to Discover.
Responsibilities
- Develops and maintains the architecture for sourcing, controlling, tracking, and managing data within the SSC cloud environments
- Works with various product teams to determine data requirements for the SSC environments, which could include synthetic data, obfuscated data, etc.
- Defines and optimizes the process in order to quickly source data into the SSC environments
- Defines and optimizes the process to refresh data in the SSC environments
- Identifies and makes recommendations around various data related toolsets that might be needed within the SSC environments
- Partners with other expert architects within the SSC domain to ensure that one cohesive product is being delivered to the technical communities within Discover
- Partners with business and IT leadership along with product area architects regularly to understand key business initiatives to ensure product area target architectures are aligned with enterprise architecture and industry strategies
- Provides insights and recommendations to Executive Committee on strategic architectural opportunities
- Consult on candidate architectures produced by product areas. Assists and guides product areas through the governance process
- Leads and/or contributes to architectures that span across product areas and/or LOBs
- Ensures other Enterprise Architects, Domain Architects, and Infrastructure Architects are engaged and strategies are incorporated into target product area architectures
- Provides conduit for feedback loop between technology enablers (e.g., EAIS, Security, Data) and Value Streams
- Promotes consistent architecture practices across the architecture community. Stays current with industry architectures and best practices and influence enterprise technology strategy and initiatives
Minimum Qualifications
At a minimum, here's what we need from you:
- Bachelors - Computer Science or related
- 10+ Years - Software Development, Software Engineering, Technical Architecture or Related
- Internal applicants only: technical proficiency rating of expert on the Dreyfus architecture scale
Preferred Qualifications
