Here's the Gist:

Wolfspeed is seeking a Global Facilities Mechanical System Design Engineer to join the Global Facilities Team (GFET). This person will be responsible for providing high quality engineering services and specifications for the planning, design, construction, start-up and commissioning of discipline specific Facilities systems in support of semiconductor device and materials manufacturing across the Wolfspeed Global Manufacturing Network. They will oversee the design standards for production support mechanical systems such as chilled water, heating water, make-up air, clean room air, abated exhaust, clean dry air, process vacuum, etc. This position will also be responsible for the oversight of the physical layout of equipment, piping, and system components and be responsible for specification and procurement of engineered equipment, as well as development of design scope and cost estimates.

The Day-to-Day:

* Lead ropject design and scope development, documentation, change control review, vendor selection, project tendering, and discipline project design for safety as the team discipline lead.
* Update system design and standards documentation for safe operations and maintenance based on prior system designs, lessons Learnt, and approved new technologies and innovations.
* Provide Wolfspeed specifications and standards to design firms and provide supervision and coordination of consultant resources required.
* Provide consultation and support to Operations and Maintenance and Manufacturing as technical discipline subject matter expert
* Lead discipline joint engineering team meetings with Network Engineering to share ideas, BKMs, lessons learnt, and provide updates and collection inputs on new designs, project statues, innovations, etc.
* Partner with Network Engineers to analyze existing Network system designs to identify improvements that will result in better performance, efficiency gains, reduced maintenance, and cost savings.
* Support sites with problem analysis using standard tools and methodologies as requested.

This Job is Right for You if You Have (Minimum Requirements):

* Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering required, Master's Degree desired.
* Minimum 10-year experience in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on design and construction of semiconductor or similar mechanical systems such as chilled water, heating water, make-up air, clean room air, abated exhaust, clean dry air, process vacuum, etc.
* Knowledge of applicable national codes, mechanical system engineering and maintenance standards, guidelines and procedures, and safe work practices.
* Ability to apply mechanical theory and related knowledge in the design, testing, and troubleshooting of operational systems and equipment in a large manufacturing plant.
* Ability to read and interpret one-lines and control schematics.
* Ability to prioritize and schedule workload and work on multiple tasks concurrently.
* Ability to travel domestically or internationally up to 25% of the time.

The purpose of this position is to perform research, provide analysis, design and document cost effective, code compliant mechanical systems for Publix facilities, and to supervise the work of mechanical engineers and designers supporting this function. Mechanical Engineering covers all aspects of HVAC (Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning), plumbing, fire protection, and refrigeration design.

Responsibilities include:

+ signing and sealing Publix mechanical construction documents as the Mechanical Engineer of Record

+ participating in the design and production of construction documents for new prototypes and site-specific projects to coordinate and develop store plans

+ supervising Engineers and Designers participating in the design and review of prototypical Mechanical Engineering design

+ addressing mechanical engineering issues that arise in the permitting process providing clarification when needed

+ maintaining and/or improving the quality level and clarity of the mechanical drawings and specifications

+ developing economical reviews of Publix's mechanical system to ensure the systems provide the best possible economic benefit while reducing energy costs

+ reviewing plans submitted by external Mechanical Engineers for remodels and tenant buildouts

+ assisting in the review of mechanical documents for unique stores as submitted by contracted consulting firms

**Required Qualifications:**

+ Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited engineering program

+ 6 years' experience working as a Mechanical Engineer

+ Must be a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Florida
