Maintains fences; monitors the integrity of fences daily; and uses hand tools to repair damaged fences. Provides assistance to boarding clients; and assists clients with moving horses for transport or with other handling as requested. The position reports to and is supervised by the Grow Farm Manager. The position of General Farm Labor is responsible for assisting the farm manager in the daily chores associated with the operations of the farm. This will include to sanitize, disinfect, and maintain company farm buildings and equipment as well as to maintain the health and wellbeing of the turkeys on a Grow Farm General Farm Laborer responsibilities include but are not limited to: Follow all of the company's rules and regulations for biosecurity, animal welfare, and safety; Work productively in a team environment and be willing to help in any area to get the job done; Work with a variety of tools and equipment; Have the ability to push, bend, stoop, squat, pull and lift 50lbs. or more; Successfully work with live animals; Organize and prioritize responsibilities to ensure efficient operations; Perform the duties of the job while moving and using hands, occasionally liftin while being exposed to dust, cold, humidity, heat, chemicals, and fumes; Work an extended workday if needed. Sanitize and disinfect turkey production facilities and equipment; Use various tools and protocols to disinfect equipment and facilities; Perform minor repairs on equipment as needed or directed by the farm Manager; Ensure proper feeding and watering needs are met for the turkeys on the farm; Maintain a safe and clean working environment; Follow all company regulations pertaining to biosecurity, animal welfare and safety; Conduct daily walk- throughs to check bait traps and dispose of any dead vermin; Check for dead birds consistently throughout the day in all barns and follow all protocols and procedures for removal of dead birds or possible quarantine of sick turkeys; Other duties as assigned by the Farm Manager; Responsibilities and tasks outlined in this document are not exhaustive and may change as determined by the needs of the company.
