A research fellow position is available in the Department of Radiation Oncology. The Mutter lab is seeking a highly motivated, creative, and collaborative post-doctoral fellow. The individual will be interested in basic and translational research training aimed at improving the lives of patients with cancer at Mayo Clinic. Mayo Clinic is one of the premier health care institutes in the world. Robert W. Mutter, M.D., is a radiation oncologist and physician scientist in the Department of Radiation Oncology and the Department of Molecular Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. He co-leads the Novel Therapeutics and Therapeutic Modalities Research Program of the Mayo Clinic Comprehensive Cancer Center. The Mutter lab discovers new tumor-specific therapeutic targets and develops novel combinatorial approaches to overcome treatment resistance, such as through manipulation of the DNA damage response and host immunity. The team also investigates new biomarkers of response and resistance to radiation and other cancer treatments.
Qualifications
Must have a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent doctoral degree in a field deemed relevant by the program. Research Fellow is appropriate for individuals who have completed no more than one prior postdoctoral fellowship, at Mayo Clinic or elsewhere. A Ph.D. is preferred.

Dedicated time in the fellow's schedule for scholarly activity including self-directed learning and research
Formal gait analysis interpretation certification with gait lab physicians, physical therapists, and engineers.
The fellow will work alongside orthopaedic surgery residents in a collaborative and supportive manner to ensure a mutually beneficial experience for all parties involved in education. The Training
Lorenz offers two, distinct doctoral fellowship placements, one in Couples and Family Psychology (CFP) and one in Psychiatry (post- Doctor of Nursing Practice), each with distinct learning paths and activities germane to those fields. A prospectus of training-related activities is available in contacting Dr. BJ Suarez, Training Director. For psychology fellows, this position is one of only a few in the nation to offer Couples and Family Psychology as a Major Area of Study for psychologists, and weekly, individual supervision with a Board-Certified Couples and Family Psychologist is provided. The Post-DNP experience is distinctive in that fellows receive weekly supervision from both a psychologist and either an advanced practice nurse or psychiatrist, which allows for an interdisciplinary blend of learning and services. The fellowship is APPIC-listed for psychology. Founded in a scientist-practitioner model, we have a diverse, passionate group of supervisory faculty who enjoy training and working with postdoctoral fellows.
The Departments
The fellowship features work on an interdisciplinary team that includes family therapists, social workers, psychiatry providers, professional counselors, and psychologists. Fellows are integrated into and function primarily in a service- and function-specific outpatient team but support in-home and intensive outpatient teams. Fellows are assigned a caseload according to their clinical and training interests in addition to their supervisors' competence and program need. Lorenz's training department is an affiliate of a number of area graduate programs and enjoys a strong, national presence for both post-master's and postdoctoral training. As such, the clinic is able to accommodate requests from postdocs wishing to begin or continue the provision of clinical supervision under supervision.
The Role
Fellows function in an applied, clinical role providing services to clients in an outpatient setting. The postdoctoral fellowship is a 1-year, full-time, salaried clinical position that prepares doctorally-prepared trainees for independent clinical work post-licensure. The fellowship represents the final year of intensive, formal training before independent practice. The fellowship is truly the culmination of many years of preparation and hard work, and is meant to help prepare you for your first position as a psychologist or PMHNP.
Core Clinical Activities
Carry a psychotherapy caseload that includes couples and families along with individual therapy clients. Fellows discuss prior to the Fellowship the expected goals for the Fellowship, which may include ages and populations for psychotherapy and psychological assessment cases (if assessment is a stated goal).

Teaching
Supervise one practicum student on their psychotherapy cases (if supervision is a stated goal)
Provide at least one lunch and learn seminar
Key Responsibilities
Carrying an assessment or service provision caseload as assigned (see placement-specific prospectus for details)
Ability to work a 5-day workweek, in person, and offer appointment times that work for clients or that are assigned by program
Ability to provide clinical services to a wide variety of populations (i.e., ages, populations, diagnoses, etc.) under clinical supervision
Ability to conduct supervised practice with children of all ages and their families
The provision of clinical services including conducting assessments, treatment planning, psychotherapy, and discharge planning for patients of the clinic
Attending and participating in individual supervision, case consultation, Grand Rounds, training seminars, business meetings, and other meetings as required by the program

A doctoral degree (PhD, PsyD, DNP) from an accredited academic program
Reasonable progress towards licensure attainment within one year of start date
Specialty-Specific Requirements
Psychology applicants must have a doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA-accredited graduate program prior to their start date as well as a declared licensure track in Minnesota with active pursuit of licensure attainment (full licensure not required for psychology). Candidates with an expressed interest in exposure (20-80% of time) to either couple or family work are preferred.
Psychiatry DNP applicants must have a valid, unrestricted PMHNP licensed in the state of Minnesota by their start date as well as DEA certification

The CATS model of assessment is unique and involves the integration of neuropsychological, academic, and projective measures within the context of the individual's development and patterns of functioning. The goal is to provide the parents, the school, and the treating clinicians with a better understanding of how the child is functioning, both cognitively and emotionally, so that specific recommendations for educational and treatment planning can be generated.
Qualifications
Requirements & Stipend: All trainees must have course work completed in projective assessment, neuropsychological and cognitive assessment, and have experience working with children and adolescents in a testing context. Trainees must complete all doctoral requirements, including dissertation, prior to the start of the fellowship. The clinic offers one full-time two-year post-doctoral position at the hospital reimbursement rate for post-doctoral trainees. Medical benefits are available.

Essential Functions

Organizing Fellows will work with ISAIAH staff organizers to build and lead an organizing program to develop the capacity and leadership of everyday Minnesotans and develop a series of racial, economic, and climate justice campaigns with community and ISAIAH leaders.
The Southern Minnesota Organizing Fellow will lead people in faith communities and other communities in Southern Minnesota to develop leadership and build power to create an economy and a democracy that honors the dignity of all people.
The Southern Minnesota Organizing Fellow will:
Engage staff and leaders to build powerful relationships based on trust and a well-defined understanding of each other's desires and interests.
Work with staff and leaders to implement an organizing program that engages leaders from 15-20 churches.
Lead public actions and meetings with elected leaders to build a politics rooted in dignity and affordability for everyone.
Recruit and train volunteer leaders to do in-person and virtual meetings with friends, family, and members of their community.
To accomplish these objectives, The Southern Minnesota Congregational Base Organizing Fellow will organize and expand the network of churches and church teams through canvassing, one on ones, community meetings, house meetings, congregational forums, and other leadership development tactics.
Over 6 months, organizing fellows receive paid holidays, sick time, a floating paid holiday, and a cell phone reimbursement. A driver's license and car is required for this position. Organizing fellows will often have meetings and events on evenings and weekends.
About ISAIAH and Faith in Minnesota
ISAIAH, a 501(c)3 nonprofit, is a vehicle for multi-racial, multi-faith coalitions across Minnesota to act collectively and powerfully towards racial and economic equity in MN by addressing both local and regional community issues. Faith in Minnesota is our 501(c)4 organization that gives us a platform to organize and advocate directly in our state's elections and political process.
Together, we have more than 250 member and partner churches and mosques, more than 25 barbershops, and more than 200 childcare centers who work to promote a caring economy and a multi-racial democracy that honors every person's dignity. We do this work through intentional, intensive leadership development, collective action, and deep partnerships with grassroots organizations and public servants.

Can share examples of achieving success when straightforward solutions aren't available through problem-solving and applying flexible thinking.
Can speak to their ability to effectively work with diverse faith communities, racial groups, and diverse stakeholders.
Have a self-interest in the needs of people and communities.
Is comfortable using a range of technology, such as Google Workspace or Microsoft Office, WhatsApp, and other common software and apps.
Have a valid driver's license and regular access to a reliable car.
