**Job Description**

Field Medical Educator - Lead

**Takeda Pharmaceutical**

**Lexington, MA**

**About the role:**

Field Medical Lead is a role focused both on driving the development of FME field plans relating to HCP engagement, field activities, and data dissemination, and maintaining direct FME responsibilities and activities for assigned territory.

+ Under the guidance of the Director/Sr Director, the FML coaches and develops FMEs to build field tactics and oversees training and adherence to Takeda policies.

+ Maintain personal expertise in relevant disease areas and FME best practices that can be applied externally and internally.

+ Leads operational strategies at medical conferences and serves as a project lead to support select projects which are aligned with medical strategies.

+ As requested by the Leadership Team, coordinates management reports including, but are not limited to, monthly accomplishments and insights.

**How you will contribute:**

**HCP Engagement:**

+ Externally-focused, HCP-related activities are expected to comprise a minimum of 25% of responsibilities

+ Build and maintain professional relationships with Advanced Practice Providers, nurses, community physicians, and other allied healthcare professionals per individual territory plans aligned to the medical strategy

+ Demonstrate expert knowledge regarding Takeda disease areas and products and therapeutic area competitor landscape

**Leadership and Strategic Engagement:**

+ FML engagement with FMEs and FME activities should compromise 75% of responsibilities

+ Work with Senior Leaders and other internal stakeholders to develop strategies and key activities supporting the medical plan.

+ Implements projects, strategies, and key activities that align with the overall US Medical strategy.

+ Leads, coaches and develops FMEs within region to support high performance, and to align with strategic goals for Takeda.

+ Work with MSTs and Leadership to coordinate functional training and development of new FMEs.

+ Identify and support opportunities for innovation and field excellence.

+ Provide performance-related feedback to Director/Sr Director to help inform Performance Reviews.

+ Set high ethical standards and ensure implementation and complete adherence to Field Medical policies, SOPs and compliance guidelines. Escalate issues promptly to leadership as necessary and take necessary action, with leadership, to correct misaligned behavior.

+ Develop field activity reports to monitor FMEs strategic deliverables.

+ Complete all administrative responsibilities consistent with SOPs and departmental guidelines including, but not limited to required training, field activity documentation, expense reporting, and other assigned tasks

**Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:**

+ Bachelor's Degree with active RN, NP, or PA licensure; or certification as a Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) with current state licensure or certification (as applicable), and a thorough grasp of the pharmaceutical industry

+ Minimum of 7 years of healthcare or related experience (nurse/clinical educator, clinical practice, research, or academic) following the award of the degree and including 4 years of field experience within the pharmaceutical industry.

+ Possesses expert interpersonal communication skills, both oral and written, and able to engender trust and respect of peers and superiors.

+ Demonstrates expert presentations skills and the ability to interpret and communicate clinical data

+ Proven track record of teamwork, leadership, timely decision making, and results in orientation in meeting objectives.

+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

+ Execution of activities within legal, regulatory, and compliance requirements

Desired:

**LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:** **One of the following is required:**

+ Licensed Nurse Practitioner

+ Licensed Physician Assistant

+ Bachelor's degree with active State's Dietitian license or certification (as applicable)
