This is a field service assignment with the U\-2 program at Beale AFB, CA\. Candidate selected will perform duties on the flight line and phase dock as directed by supervision\. Will perform as a hands\-on technician for many tasks\. Will also function as a technical adviser and Air Force \(AF\) 7\-skill level augmentee in electrical and avionics and at the 5\-skill level or better in electronic warfare and IADL/DDL\-2 data link system specialties on the flight line\. Troubleshooting skills, knowledge of tech data, U\-2 drawing system, work documentation systems and hands\-on expertise required\. Prefer knowledge and familiarity with AF rules and processes for performing and controlling aircraft maintenance activities\. Requires verbal and written communication skills and standard office computer literacy\. Prefer candidates with ability to provide informal on\-the\-job training on U\-2 electrical and avionics systems to AF personnel\. Expect to work a six\-day work week; may work odd hours and varying work week and shift schedules\. Prefer candidates with minimum of two years on U\-2 aircraft and total of five\-plus years aircraft maintenance experience due to 7\-skill level equivalence requirement\. Prefer experience with fiber optics\. Position is designated mission essential and world\-wide deployable which means anthrax/small pox vaccinations, chemical warfare training and exercise participation and other related mobility training; can be deployed forward to another location for extended time\. Ability to work with others and strengthen team effort required\. May be required to live in government furnished quarters and travel by military airlift\. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information\. Must accept and adopt to location specific rules and guidelines related to personal safety, security, cultural awareness and acceptable behavior\.
