Be Ready Alliance Coordinating for Emergencies (BRACE) is a community-based disaster coalition that leads in emergency preparedness, response, and recovery efforts in Escambia County. We train and mobilize volunteers, and collaborate with local, regional, and national partners to ensure the disaster readiness of our community. BRACE works to ensure that low income and vulnerable persons are provided prompt and supportive emergency assistance following a major disaster or emergency; enhance the resilience of persons living in poverty to disaster and other emergencies and build organizational, community and regional capacity to ensure vital services will be available to low-income families during future disasters and emergencies. Member Duties : The Fire Rehab VISTA will work with the BRACE CEO, Escambia County, and the City of Pensacola Emergency Fire Services to build a sustainable fire corps program for BRACE. The VISTA will work with the BRACE VISTA Training Coordinator to identify and schedule prospective fire fighter rehab and fire core trainings. The VISTA will also work with the BRACE Volunteer Coordinator to attend local events, grow the fire rehab program and volunteer base, and ensure volunteers are certified in fire rehab. The VISTA will serve as the point of contact for all fire rehab trainings and events. Additionally, the Fire Rehab VISTA will support Emergency Support Function (ESF) 15 and ESF 6 in the event of an Escambia County Activation.
