About this role: As a Biomedical Technician with Fresenius Medical Care, you will maintain and repair medical and water treatment equipment within our kidney care clinics. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs dialysis equipment, ancillary equipment, and water treatment systems.
* Maintains the physical plant, as directed.
* Ensures outside vendor services are completed per contract.
* Purchases and retain an inventory of service parts.
* Performs, evaluates, and reports water/dialysate sample collection and any actions required.
* Conducts daily, weekly, and monthly trend analysis on the water system to assure system functions as designed.
* Documents all repairs and maintenance activity.
* Assists in planning and installing biomedical equipment to assure safe and effective operation of facility.
* Transports equipment as needed with supervisor consent.
* Participates in monthly technical and regulatory meetings.
* Collaborates with facility staff to ensure all regulatory and OSHA requirements are met.
* Manages inventory, including receiving and putting up deliveries, inventory counts, transporting goods between clinics as needed and assist clinical management with inventory costs.
* Performs initial and annual verification and ongoing monitoring of patient care staff's technique for testing water system, assuring tests and documentation comply with manufacturer's specifications for the devices and test equipment used.
* Completes all technical training programs required by state/federal regulations and company policy.
* Provides scheduled after hour technical on-call coverage for your clinics as needed.
EDUCATION AND CREDENTIALS:
* High school diploma or G.E.D. required.
* Associate Degree in electronics / biomedical technology, or equivalent (preferred but not required)
* Valid Driver's License issued in the employee's state of residence required.
* Continued employment is dependent on successful completion of Fresenius Biomedical Technician training within the first 24 months of service from date of hire.
EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs various activities necessary for the preparation of the patient and the procedure room for the radiology procedures in compliance with the organization's policies and procedures and state and federal regulations.
Reviews patient specific procedure orders to determine materials/supplies that will be needed.
Sets up/ stocks the procedure room/procedure trays with all needed supplies and interventional equipment prior to procedure and cleans procedure room post procedure, including but not limited to cleaning of equipment/machinery.

Assists with preparing the patient for the surgical procedure by positioning, shaving and prepping.

Acts as scrub assistant assisting the physician during interventional procedures and administers fluoroscopy to enable the physician to see flow through the blood vessels to identify areas in need of intervention while maintaining a sterile technique according to the established company policies and procedures and state and federal regulations.

Draws up intravenous medication and labels as per the organization's medication labeling policy.
Processes x-ray images and archives to the image repository, CD or DVD to comply with the organization's policies and procedures for patient medical records and state regulations.
Provides outstanding quality of patient care by supporting and driving the organization's quality standards through meeting regulatory requirements and the practice of Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI), including use of CQI tools.

Summary:
The Mental Health Therapist I apply graduate-level counseling skills/social work under the direct supervision of an independently licensed staff member as stipulated by the Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, and Marriage and Family Therapist Board. The duties performed include the psychosocial assessment of individuals, adolescents, families, and groups and the provision of graduate-level clinical social work/counseling interventions as appropriate to client needs in the context of the department. This position will complete the 3,000 hours of supervised clinical work required by the state licensure board to obtain the clinical endorsement required to practice independently.
Responsibilities:
Conducts initial comprehensive patient and family psychosocial assessment, and triages care accordingly.
Communicates with staff regarding assessment, treatment/interventions and interdisciplinary care plan through documentation and meetings such as patient rounds.
Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide competent care for the physical, psychological, social, educational, and safety needs of the patients served regardless of age.

Triage and assess intake calls received from families and community referral sources. Conducts preliminary diagnostic assessment over telephone to assess the need for services for children and adolescents seeking psychiatric and psychological services.
Conducts comprehensive risk assessment either face to face in the ED or through telehealth to maximize continuity of care with the family.
Engages in consultation and collaboration with hospital and community professionals and programs in order to develop and communicate a crisis treatment plan for patients and families and provides recommendations for follow-up.

Tracking 30-month coordinator period each month for those patients on employer Group Health Plans to ensure Medicare will be in place once coordination ends.
Monitoring and verifying the Medicaid status of each patient on a monthly basis and determining the spend down amounts
Works with patients to evaluate personal financial information and make determination for indigent program.
Completes initial Indigent waiver applications.
Tracks and completes annual indigent waiver applications.
Monitors all patients' insurance information to ensure that it is updated and accurate for the Accounts Receivable Department.
Addresses any identified anomalies or discrepancies, researches and answers questions as needed.
Meets with patients receiving direct payments from insurance companies to ensure payment of dialysis treatments owed to Fresenius.
Prepares, analyzes and reviews monthly reports to track work progress on caseloads; Analyzes patient reports from billing systems as an audit check to ensure the correct insurance information is entered into the billing system and that other changes are not overlooked. Researches and corrects any discrepancies identified.
Provides QA team members with monthly information regarding the details of the patients' primary and secondary insurance status as well as documentation regarding the plans of actions currently in place on a monthly basis as required by QA processes
Completes monthly audit exam to stay current on internal policies.
May present on insurance and financial assistance options to patients as necessary.
Assist with various projects as assigned by direct supervisor.

Summary:
The Mental Health Therapist I apply graduate-level counseling skills/social work under the direct supervision of an independently licensed staff member as stipulated by the Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, and Marriage and Family Therapist Board.
