Responsibilities
The Global Engineering Manager will be responsible for defining and standardizing how we engineer and design Manage Pressure Wells. The role will be setting process and guidance that aligns with industry best practice and demand by customers. It is reliant of the role to establish engineered solutions that demonstrate not only technical but also economic value to our customers and their operations, ensuring growth and adoption of Managed Pressure Wells across all applications. The role will be responsible for developing a strategic Wells Engineering Strategy, creating new revenue stream that is competitive and built on our leading technologies and software for Managed Pressure Wells. This includes development of cross product line synergies that will enhance our capabilities and advance our engineered solutions.
Duties & Responsibilities

Conduct evaluations and design reviews of new and existing product designs Provide engineering support to operational staff during field runs, ensuring the highest level of Customer Service Quality is maintained throughout Provide technical support to field operations and other company officials.
COMMUNICATION
Build strong and positive relationships with client at various levels Collaborate with a wide variety of functional areas such as sales, operations, and R&D to support product successes and market growth Work with the Global Product Line managers to establish synergies and development engineered solutions that encompass multiple product line offerings. Position Overview:
The Global Engineering Group showcases talented professionals, world-class technologies and innovative solutions that “power” the quality and performance of Insulet Corporation's unique drug delivery devices. The Manager, Global Equipment Engineering provides supervision, engineering, and technical oversight to maximize the Global Equipment Engineering Group contribution to company performance.

The Manager, Global Equipment Engineering serves as one of the leaders of the technical community, working effectively and collaboratively with all technical disciplines and functions, both internally and externally. This role will oversee the technical design and supervision of several mechanical engineers to support the delivery of new technologies and processes, making dramatic bottom line improvements to existing processes and transformations for existing and new product production. This role is responsible to ensure Global Equipment Engineering group designs, builds and implements the most cost effective manufacturing equipment and processes, as well as cost effectively improving existing processes and transformations to meet the needs of a very dynamic and technically challenging business.

Responsibilities:
Lead a group of engineers primarily focused on the design, development, specification, implementation and ramp up of automated equipment for tight tolerance discrete component assembly and packaging processes. Drive continuous improvement efforts, obsolescence programs, technology transfers and new product development will also be required in support of business objectives.Coordinates vendor equipment procurement and generates/validates against specifications Manage Insulet automation suppliers and ensure delivery of new machines and machine improvements.
Partners with vendors and internal resources evaluating total cost of ownership models to deliver the most cost effective solution to our manufacturing floor Collaborates with a cross functional team to ensure that design and function meet all Insulet's standards and requirements At all times maintain a cGMP compliant environment and operate within FDA guidelines for Class II Medical Device manufacturing.Evaluates equipment vendors from a capability, engineering, cost and schedule perspective

Education and Experience:
Minimum Requirements:
Minimum: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related field.Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering is a plus.8+ years of experience, and at least 3 years managing other engineers.

Preferred Skills and Competencies:
In depth and prolonged experience in the designing, specifying, selecting, manufacturing acceptance, installation, startup, commission and validation of fully automated and advanced discrete component assembly and / or packaging technologies is sought.Hands-on mechanical aptitude and machine design including: pneumatics, linkage design, mechatronics, robotics, cam and linkage design and drive systems Process Technologies: ultrasonic welding, heat staking, hot stamping, laser welding, laser decoration and water tightness testing In depth component manufacturing knowledge and experience including: stamping / forming and molding Trouble shooting, cost effective efficiency improvements, scrap reduction of existing designs and manufacturing transformations, baselining and platforming Ability to critically review engineering designs and ensure adherence to company design and development guidelines and SOPs. Possessing a solid understanding and demonstrated ability of implementing machine and process safety considerations a strong plus. Knowledge of CE, UL, SCCR & NFPA-70E&79 regulations a plus. The Global I&E Engineer is responsible for providing subject matter expertise for instrumentation and electrical equipment design, operation, and maintenance. The Global I&E Engineer will report to the Global Maintenance & Reliability Manager and will have a primary focus on Maintenance and Reliability. The primary goal is to minimize or eliminate unscheduled equipment downtime and deploy processes, procedures, and systems that create efficient management of our maintenance programs at our production facilities within the area of I&E. A secondary focus is to provide guidance and support in design of new I&E equipment.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide technical support to sites for I&E equipment installations and troubleshooting
* Drive solution/improvement generations through root cause analysis process
* Drives global maintenance and reliability processes for I&E equipment, system development and implementation to improve company-wide asset availability and lower cost of ownership.
* Guide preventative and predictive maintenance programs
* Must be willing to travel domestically and internationally up to 25%

Partner with various customers, including:
* Develop standards and audit site performance
* Drive consistency in processes and assist in delivering necessary training
* Support site implementation needs
