This position is primarily responsible for coordinating bid board activities in support of the Military & Defense team in order to maximize sales opportunities. Effectively coordinates special projects, prioritizing appropriately to ensure that the goals and objectives are accomplished within the established timelines. Provides status updates to project stakeholders, ensuring the quality and integrity of the information to enable effective decision making.
Responsibilities
• Work within e-bid sites to review bid opportunities, communicate those opportunities to the sales team and submit bid packages.
• Track bid metrics including bids submitted, won, lost, etc.
• Execute special projects as assigned by management, providing accurate data, detailed explanations, and proper presentation to enable appropriate decision making.
• Ensure project execution stays on schedule.

• Conduct research, identify information, perform analysis, create formal response of findings as directed by manager.

Overview

Canon U.S.A.'s Corporate Office is currently seeking a Government Bids Specialist to join our Government Operations Team. The person in this role is responsible for responding to request for bids/proposals and administering federal government contracts and Blanket Purchase Agreements (BPA's). A background in the federal government bids process and contracts administration is highly recommended for this position.

This position is full time and offers a hybrid work schedule requiring you to be in the office Monday and Wednesday and an option to work from home the remainder of the week (unless a specific business need arises requiring in office attendance on other days). Note that work schedules and office reporting requirements may change from time to time based on business needs.

This hybrid role is available in either Melville, New York or Arlington, Virginia.

Responsibilities

- Responsible for all bid activities including but not limited to review, distill, and identify bid requirements and concerns; develop bid strategies, formulate comprehensive and quality proposals/quotes; and track bid activities and maintain bid log. Act as the focal point of contact for proposal development and seeking clarifications from customers.
- Act as the contract liaison between Canon and Government, including participation in pre-award/post award discussions, contract negotiations/modifications and cure notices, if applicable. Contract maintenance includes product refreshes, renewals and up-to-date marketing information.
- Administer and coordinate activities involving the acceptance, monitoring and performance of Federal government contracts.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience, required.
- Minimum three years' of work experience with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Federal audits and compliance, required.

- Must demonstrate strong proficiency with Microsoft (MS) Excel, Word, & Outlook programs.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
