Founded in Lake County, Ill. in 1938, GLCU began with one goal in mind: Enable civil servants to create their ideal future by borrowing and saving at competitive rates.

2002

November 1, 2002 MERGER: Birch Run Area Credit Union with Credit Union Plus

Great Lakes Business Credit was established in 2002.

2003

James was a contributing member of the leadership team that started a commercial finance company in 2003 that continues to operate today.

2012

Prior to joining Great Lakes Business Credit in 2012, she worked at small and large banks expanding her expertise in the lending environment.

2019

Terry Bowersox has 50 years’ experience in the commercial banking/leasing field and has been formally part of the GLBC team since early 2019.

2020

Prior to joining Great Lakes Business Credit in February 2020, she worked as an Account Manager for Cigna Group Insurance Company.

2021

Miguel Ochoa graduated from Walsh College in 2021 with a bachelor’s degree in finance.
