While collaborating with Program, Electrical, Mechanical, Software, and Systems teams, you will grow interdisciplinary engineering skillsets that will help you excel into a dynamic engineering career.

As a part of our Automation team, you will work under the guidance of a mentor who is experienced in your pursued degree to plan, design, develop and support automation projects (hardware and software).

Our team is looking for undergraduate students to work full-time (40hrs; M-F) at our Bedford, MA office with the opportunity for a hybrid work schedule from January 2023 to end of June 2023. Students must be within a commutable distance to the Bedford, MA office.
Essential Functions/ Job Duties:
Because Automation requires interdisciplinary engineering, what you do is dependent on where you want to grow!
CAD, PCB & control panel design support for fixture development and modifications Manage requirements for complex electromechanical systems with a significant software component Test and evaluate fixtures hardware for reliability Document and manufacture build process of fixtures Participate in various phases of our product development process Collect, interpret, and document data collection

Qualifications:
Currently pursuing a Bachelors degree in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field with at least 2 years of coursework completed.Demonstrated experience working with electromechanical systems or automation hardware Experience with or desire to learn various programming languages (C, C++, C#, Python, ROS2) Experience working with or desire to learn multiple OS (Windows, Linux, Mac) Passionate life-long learner who is self-driven and brings their learnings outside of work and school through personal projects (Arduino Project, Raspberry Pi Projects, 3D Modelling and Printing, etc.) Ability to work well in a team environment Comfortable exploring work tasks, seeking answers, and working independently when necessary Strong interpersonal skills track record including excellent oral and written communication skills

Nice to have:
Well-rounded knowledge set in electrical, mechanical, and software engineering IT background with an understanding of IP networking Knowledge of computer vision, SLAM, kinematics, and path-planning algorithms

The Packet-Optical HW Development team is looking for an enthusiastic and innovative designer to join the hardware development group in our Atlanta design center working on Ciena's Packet Optical platform products. The position will be tailored to the successful applicant and will involve working with senior designers implementing leading edge circuit packs for multi gigabit fiber optic transport systems.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Circuit design and schematic capture Perform timing analysis and simulation of critical interfaces Perform hardware bring-up of initial prototypes Develop and execute hardware verification plans and, debug prototype hardware using a variety of test equipment such as oscilloscopes, network analyzers, protocol analyzers, signal generators, etc.Assist with large scale high-speed signal testing by developing and using automated data acquisition techniques

CANDIDATE PROFILE
Good communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills are essential The candidate must have initiative, enthusiasm and a desire to learn Ability to work collaboratively with cross functional teams Strong knowledge of digital and analog circuits Familiarity with embedded microcontrollers Familiarity with programable logic devices such as CPLD's and FPGA'sFamiliarity with lab test equipment and measurement techniques Experience designing and debugging hardware is an asset Experience with PCB schematic capture and layout tools is an asset

EDUCATION
Currently enrolled in BS or MS degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or related program.

Job Description & Responsibilities

We are looking for a Hardware Engineer Intern who is interested in Hardware design to join our Engineering team for an internship for the Spring semester of 2023. The Hardware Engineer Internship will focus on research and development of new products, leading improvements existing products and overall systems solutions. The Hardware Engineer Intern will help in developing Wave Relay Product solutions with our DOD customers. The Hardware Engineer Intern will help to identify customer needs through the systems team's face to face interaction with customers and play a critical role in developing the product solution. The Hardware Engineer Intern will operate out of our New York City headquarters and manage projects involving a variety of functions with both on-site and remote teams.

Position Responsibilities

• Managing, deriving, and capturing Product/Program requirements including mechanical and electrical interface design specifications, component requirements, and functional block diagrams
• Supporting software and hardware testing
• Supporting and facilitating engineering projects including new product/solution development, product changes, and customer integration
• Supporting the change management process to ensure all required actions have been completed and that communication to key stakeholders is maintained
• Ensuring quality documentation is updated/created as required, including technical manuals
• Providing support and delivering solutions for rapid development projects
• Modifying and updating requirements documents
• Coordinating preparation of design drawings including updates
• Supporting and facilitating project scheduling

Job Qualifications & Experience

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field and have completed at least two years of the program
• Successfully completed at least one course in engineering design
• Successfully completed at least one course in RF theory
• Must have a United States security clearance or the ability to obtain a United States security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior Internship experience with Product Development
• Prior Internship experience with systems development, evaluation and requirements capture
• Prior Internship experience with Systems engineering and networking experience
• Knowledge of audio/video encoder/decoders and interfaces
