Although CASA and CASA in Action share a common goal of supporting immigrants and low-income people in Maryland, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Virginia, and nationally, they are separate organizations with their own board of directors. DEPARTMENT SYNOPSIS:

The Health and Human Services Department responds to the needs of low-income Latinos and other immigrants and their families, utilizing service provision models that promote building the power of the immigrant community. This includes health education and improved access to screening and treatment services. Our model of education utilizes popular education methodology to train community health promoters whom their peers trust. CASA also addresses the need for improved access to preventative and primary health care by providing a multilingual telephone and walk-in health and social service navigation program designed to inform community members of available services, and help them enroll in the public or community benefit programs for which they are eligible. Additionally, CASA provides medical interpreting services for limited English speakers and partners with local health departments to combat the spread of infectious diseases and chronic illnesses disproportionately impacting the Latino and immigrant community.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Coordinate vaccination efforts and manages COVID response with emphasis on vaccine events, ensuring best practices in vaccination, and monitors systems to ensure safe vaccination administration.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee and work as a team with clinical partners run smooth, organized, and successful vaccine events ensuring no doses are wasted at the end of the clinic.

  • Together with HHS Director, monitors and evaluates project protocols and procedures. Makes appropriate adjustments in program and strategy to appropriately fit the target population.
  • Provide quality customer service, interactions and responses to all members, partner organizations, vendors, visitor, callers and any other individual or organization you may encounter in your role with CASA.

The purpose of this position is to outreach to participants, most often on an individual basis, targeted for group self-management programs as well as individualized care coordination.   • Meets with, educates and motivates participants regarding participation in Fund programs/care coordination designed to improve health outcomes
