What you will be doing: Reporting to the Director of Category Strategy & Insights, the Sr Manager of Category Strategy & Insights will work closely with our marketing and sales organization to support the development of category strategies and sales tactics to drive growth within our customers and categories. The individual in this role will have a strong analytical abilities, capable of developing insights through sophisticated analytics. They will possess the ability to develop category reviews, build standardized reporting, and, most meaningfully, synthesize findings into recommendations. * Stewards the value of Helen of Troy's Category Advisory Services with key customers. * Owns the interaction with marketing & sales to evaluate the category, address key business questions, and assist in building strategies and tactics to drive category growth. * Deliver fully coordinated consumer, category and market insights to guide customers' strategic choices and tactical actions which provide market leading growth. * Proactively provide analytics using all Category Management capabilities, such as planogram software and data visualization tools to drive business opportunities and develop recommendations. * Cultivates business relationships with customers' key contacts that establish Helen of Troy as the top tier source for all relevant category insights & analytics. * Presents analysis & insights to customers' merchandising organization, helping to showcase growth opportunities within the category. * Responsible for crafting and refreshing Category Management reporting, analysis, and special project work for our Marketing & Sales organizations. Troubleshoot issues related to product performance, safety, and durability, working closely with engineers to identify root causes. Support prototype fabrication, including soldering, wiring, basic machining, and 3D printing. Conduct competitive benchmarking. Maintain a well-organized lab environment and contribute to lab cleanliness and equipment organization. Provide detailed test reports, summarizing experimental data, findings, and recommendations. Follow safety protocols and regulatory guidelines, particularly for medical and electrical consumer products. Skills needed to be successful in this role: Strong understanding of engineering principles and the ability to apply the scientific method to problem-solving. Familiarity with instrumentation such as thermocouples, accelerometers, and data acquisition systems. Ability to fabricate prototypes and test fixtures (soldering, wiring, 3D printing, machining a plus). Knowledge of electromechanical systems, basic programming or firmware testing, and software interfaces. Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify patterns, troubleshoot issues, and develop creative solutions. Excellent attention to detail with strong documentation and report-writing skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively, handling multiple projects simultaneously. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with engineers and cross-functional teams. Minimum Qualifications: Associate degree in an engineering or technical field. 1+ years of experience as an engineering technician, lab technician, or in a related technical role. Experience operating and maintaining test equipment. Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field. Hands-on experience with circuit boards, sensors, calibration, and testing of electronic products. In Massachusetts, the standard base pay range for this role is $24-$30.00/hourly.
