  • An individual who can help gather data on applications to confirm the design and implement proactive solutions to reduce warranty, maintenance and nuisance issues to improve the end product for the customer
  • SunSource is looking for someone who wants a career in the fluid power industry
  • Minimum 2 year technical degree, preferably in fluid power; B.S. in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred

Western Equipment Co hydraulic specialist job description

The Hydraulic Hose Specialist builds stock and designs custom hydraulic and industrial hose assemblies in a fast paced, customer service driven business. This role creates sales orders and customer invoices for hose purchases, maintains tooling and equipment, and serves as a backup in the warehouse. Two years experience in a similar role and valid driver's license with acceptable driving record is required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Build hose assemblies for customers and stock in accordance with policy and procedures.

• Must be able to identify various types of fittings and hose and be able to offer replacement options for our customers.

• Design and estimate custom hose assemblies based on customer needs and application.

• Create sales orders in order to provide a customer invoice for hose purchases.

• Adhere to good housekeeping and Contamination Control Standards.

• Maintain tooling and equipment in the hose room.

• Serves as a backup to the parts warehouse as needed.

• Performs daily bin and physical inventory counts.

• Pulls and packages parts to fill customer orders in a timely fashion.

• Delivers and provides pickup of parts, cylinders and components for service repairs when needed.

• Receives shipments. Identifies parts from shipments. Places parts in proper bin location.

• Bands and prepares packages and pallets for shipping.

• Performs daily safety inspections and maintains safety logs of mobile equipment.

• Follows assigned work schedule with consistent attendance/punctuality.

• Adhere to all customer care standards.

• Actively care and advocate safety at Western States. Adhere to all applicable safety policies, procedures and standards.

• May accomplish training and serve as a team member in support of Western States' strategic programs, projects, and initiatives.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with others.

• Ability to operate a forklift.

• Ability to obtain forklift operators certification.

• Ability to learn and use computer systems for time entry, personnel data, e-mail, and basic dealer systems operational functions.

• Ability to work overtime and on call.

• Consistent attendance and punctuality.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Proof of high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).

• Minimum 2 years' experience, or 2 year as a Western States combined warehouse and/or delivery driver, or 4 years non-CAT warehouse experience required.

• Previous experience in hose production or warehouse is preferred.

• Mechanically inclined with a general understanding of machinery and hand tools.

• Proof of driver's license and acceptable driving record.

• Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write in English).

PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS:

• Must be able to sit for long periods of time along with walking, standing, climbing stairs, reaching, pushing, pulling, leaning and twisting.

• Able to lift up to 60 lbs. in accordance with Western States' Lifting Safe Work Practice to include amount and approach.

• Must be able to meet all safety requirements for applicable safety policies.
