Industrial training specialist job description

As an Industrial Automation Specialist, you will be responsible for providing pre or post-sales support/expertise to assist the sales team in their sales efforts of industrial automation products, systems and services. You will possess specialized product knowledge. You may deliver presentations and product demonstrations to customers and sales representatives. You may have a continuing role in customer support to address customer issues in the usage of the products.
**Responsibilities:**

+ Calls on client, management and representatives, to convince them of desirability of automation products or services offered.

+ Provides technical services to clients relating to industrial automation products.

+ Makes sales contacts, research customer needs and provides product and application information; demonstrating technology solutions for customers.

+ Gathers, analyzes and shares technical information and solutions to internal and external customers.

+ First line of pre/post automation sales support for sales teams.

+ Develops expertise in industrial automation product groups.

+ Participates in joint sales calls with customers and prospects.

+ Participates in ongoing training to maintain technical competency in product and complimentary product areas.

+ Understands market conditions and competitive forces.

+ Promotes value-add assigned products in competitive situations.

+ Participates in marketing, promotion programs, and product launches from product businesses.

+ Maintains excellent relationships with vendor product managers and other selling resources

**Qualifications:**

+ Bachelors' Degree required, Engineering Degree preferred.

+ 1 year preferred automation sales.

+ 2 years preferred technical experience using automation products.

+ Technical background and/or experience required.

+ Strong computer skills required.

+ Excellent communication and presentation skills preferred.

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE (Overview & Key Responsibilities):

As an Industrial Service Technician, you will safely troubleshoot, service and maintain state-of-the-art equipment and provide excellent customer service to build and maintain relationships with our valued customers.

Summary of responsibilities (not comprehensive of all tasks) :

• Participate in the safe service and preventive maintenance of state-of-the-art machines.
• Remove machining chips, debris and by-products from machines and equipment.
• Operate sump sucking equipment to remove water-based coolants and neat oils from machines.
• Measure, monitor, and record fluid data through a digital entry system.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (Minimum Qualifications):

• Safely perform quality work.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to repetitively lift 50 lbs. and continuously perform work standing, squatting and kneeling.
• High School diploma or GED.

WHAT WILL SET YOU APART (Preferred Qualifications):

• A desire to work in a fast-paced, organized, and positive environment where safety and people come first.
• Prior material handling and forklift experience.
• Prior field service technician, repair technician, general labor, HVAC, carpentry, material handler or forklift experience.

Role description:

Arcadis has an immediate need for an Industrial Hygiene Specialist - Asbestos. The role includes performing field work for asbestos-related field work, such as inspections and abatement monitoring/oversight and air sampling. Additional tasks also include indoor air quality (IAQ)/mold investigations, IH exposure monitoring, remediation oversight, building characterization assessments, report preparation, etc. This position will be based in Hartford, CT area. Job specific training will be provided by Arcadis, as needed.

Role accountabilities:

* Perform oversight, documentation, and air monitoring for asbestos, mold, and other types of remediation activities at a variety of facilities including but not limited to: commercial, public, schools, financial, retail, industrial, chemical, manufacturing, oil/gas, etc.
* Routinely interact/communicate with Arcadis task managers, project managers, and leaders; abatement contractors; consultants; and client personnel
* Perform inspections/surveys for asbestos, lead, mold (water intrusion), and other regulated building materials.
* Write up field notes, sampling summaries for work conducted.
* Support project teams as needed.
* Task Management and scheduling, prepare written reports.
* Interfacing with external and internal Arcadis clients to ensure on time and satisfactory performance on projects
* Must be willing to travel as needed. Travel may include single overnight trips, several weeks, or longer-term assignments.
* Work hours may include nights and weekends, or extended shifts beyond 8 hours.
* A valid driver's license and clean driving record is required for this position.
* Must be able to pass medical exam and medically cleared to wear negative pressure respirator.
* Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs. of equipment throughout 8-hour shift.

Qualifications & Experience:

Requirements:

* 2 Years minimum of experience with asbestos, mold, lead, or related Industrial Hygiene work.
* CT Department of Health Licensed Asbestos Inspector
* CT Department of Health Licensed Asbestos Project Monitor

Preferred Qualifications:

* AS or BS in physical sciences or industrial hygiene, safety, environmental sciences, or related science or engineering fields preferred. Minimum education: High School.
* General understanding of HVAC systems, building mechanical systems, building construction
* General understanding of building renovation and demolition
* Ability to work on teams as well as independently with minimal direct supervision.
* CT Department of Health Licensed Asbestos Designer
* Other asbestos state licenses/certifications in New England States (MA, RI, ME, etc.) and New York
* Properly trained in the NIOSH 582 or 582 Equivalent course
* OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER
* Knowledge of applicable OSHA, EPA, and state regulations for asbestos, etc.
