CVS Health information technology disaster recovery manager job description

The Enterprise Disaster Recovery (DR) Governance Manager is responsible to ensure internal compliance with all CVS Health DR policies and protocols.

In this role, you will be responsible to compile, track, and analyze all data gathered during planning and exercising of EDR plans/programs, maintaining metrics and reporting requirements for EDR, This will include post-test reporting, annual summaries, audit reporting, remediation requirements and similar communications internal and external to CVS Health.

This Disaster Recovery Professional will also work to ensure that all CVS Health EDR Plans are maintained within approved software systems/tools and adhere to the standards developed by the EDR Program. This will minimize the impact of major system outages and ensure all EDR programs and plans are consistent with current CVS Health and DR policies

A critical function of this role is to partner with external clients to demonstrate Disaster Recovery Governance program adherence to contractual obligations.

You will also assist in developing EDR training programs for the EDR team and for the greater CVS Health IT enterprise, working closely with the CVS Health training division. He or she will develop/propose annual training objectives for IT. Training programs will clearly emphasize annual training/awareness objectives, assess new or changed systems for training requirements and encompass all IT stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:

* Provide leadership in an existing high performing Disaster Recovery Governance program. This includes assisting in the development and maintenance of all enterprise Disaster Recovery policies, standards procedures, and guidelines.
* Develop pertinent senior leadership metrices to demonstrate compliance to the Disaster Recovery program requirements.
* Establish and monitor key initiatives, communicate essential information, coordinate associated activities, obtain expert input, review open issues, and action items for ongoing projects and contribute information and recommendations during meetings and briefings.
* Identify opportunities to leverage technologies to increase EDR efficiency.
* Define transition steps from the current "as-is" environment to the future architecture, including interoperability with existing application migration strategies, and rollout strategies.
* Assist with the definition of system and operational requirements as it relates to EDR.
* Provide program management oversight for ongoing EDR tools and metrics reporting projects.
* Analyze, absorb, and apply rapidly changing technologies as part of integrated solutions to business requirements within Disaster Recovery environment.
* Assist and participate with the construct of high-level and detailed technology roadmaps across CVS Health's IT organization.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

Minimum: 60,300

Maximum: 126,600

Please keep in mind that this range represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual salary offer will take into account a wide range of factors, including location.

Required Qualifications

The candidate should have 5+ years of experience with data analytics, managing metric reporting, knowledge of Disaster Recovery governance requirements and exhibit the following competencies:

* DR subject matter expert in Disaster Recovery Governance, responsible for ensuring DR business requirements and policies are adhered to
* Able to coordinate multiple groups across multiple technology and business areas.
* Ability to assess technology changes in production and translate them into necessary changes for metrics, compliance, and training programs within EDR
* Effectively communicate technical topics, both verbal and written, in a clear, concise, and complete manor - to CVSH internal and external customers
* Ability to facilitate workshops with varying IT audiences to achieve the desired IT Disaster Recovery Planning goals and objectives from a documentation, maintenance, testing and governance standpoint
* Ability to provide clear guidance to project, technical and non-technical teams to ensure understanding of disaster recovery requirements and capabilities
* Exhibit effective leadership, team building, coaching and persuasion skills. Uses extreme tact and discretion when dealing with confidential, complex or sensitive issues
* Advanced Microsoft Excel skills - proficient in Macros, Pivot Charts/Tables, Formulas, etc
* Ability to work independently and follow through on assignments with minimal direction

Preferred Qualifications

Minimum of 5+ years of experience in disaster recovery and business continuity planning

* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
* Work with Executive / Senior Management / Business Continuity Teams and external Clients/Audits
* Experience working for a large Healthcare organization with an expansive, diverse infrastructure environment comprised of multiple Datacenter's, advanced hybrid solutions and tiered recovery strategies
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems, or equivalent experience in MIS or IT

Education

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems - OR - equivalent combination of education and work experience
* Certified Disaster Recovery Professional (CBCP) preferred
