Presents self to other staff, patients, families and visitors in a warm, receptive manner. Provides direction and information to patients and family members. Identifies and obtains language translation as needed. Assists with surgical patient positioning, transfer, cast application and removal under the direction of the RN. Retrieves and delivers items to other departments. Responds promptly to assignments and requests. Assists nursing staff in maintaining high standards of nursing practice by facilitating a prompt response to patient needs. Restocks supplies, cleans/defrosts refrigerators, cleans equipment and maintains orderly environment. Assures patient transfer and transport equipment is functioning properly. Functions as a surgical team member. Demonstrates competence to perform assigned responsibilities is a manner that meets the population-specific and developmental needs of the members served by the department. Appropriately adapts assigned assessment, treatment, and/or service methods to accommodate the unique physical, psychosocial, cultural, age-specific and other developmental needs of each member served. Develop individualized treatment plans to address patient needs. Provide therapy sessions focusing on articulation, cognitive-communication, and swallowing difficulties. Educate patients, families, and caregivers on techniques to enhance communication and swallowing function. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including occupational and physical therapists, physicians, and nursing staff, to ensure comprehensive care. Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress and treatment plans. Stay current with best practices and advancements in speech-language pathology. Qualifications Qualifications Education: Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program. Licensure: Valid state license to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist Certification: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) (preferred). Experience: Prior experience in speech therapy (preferred but not required). Skills: Strong communication, problem-solving, and patient-care skills. Certifications: CPR certification (preferred).
