Classification: Non-Exempt/Non-Bargaining
Using intermediate/advanced level of knowledge to perform all work functions related to the installation, service, and maintenance of voice, and/or data equipment and services from the Central Office to both Residential and business customer premises. Platform for delivery of services may be Fiber or Copper.
Responsibilities
With limited supervision, perform work involving the installation, service, maintenance, and repair of both inside and outside plant, voice, and data communications services.
Drives company vehicle to work site or other locations within service area.
Participates in rotational "primary on call" responsibility, accepting and responding to after-hours customer trouble report and installation requirements. Will be required to work overtime based on business needs. Will be required to respond during emergency situations even when not on call.
Using general knowledge is proficient in the use of test equipment including the Optical Power Meter, Fluke volt/ohm meter, Telephone Test Set, Toners, OTDR/TDR and Underground Cable Locator, Lenovo laptop, JDSU.
Is certified to use ladders.
Adheres to company safety policies and practices. Attends required safety and training classes, and maintains a satisfactory safety record.
Reports to work on time and maintains a satisfactory attendance record.
Qualifications
Technical/Professional Knowledge: Knowledge of equipment and steps related to the installation service and maintenance of voice, and/or data at customer sites. Must possess good organizational skills and be able to communicate clearly and effectively with co-workers and the general public. Must maintain a neat appearance in accordance with Company policy. Ability to learn quickly.
Training preferred: PC Proficiency with Microsoft products in windows-based application.
Work experience: 0-1 year of applicable installation and maintenance experience and some prior exposure to the telecommunications or cable industry preferred.
License required: A valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record is required. A DOT physical will be required for technicians driving trucks that are over 10,001 GVW.

Colorado Salary Range: ($36,267 - $54,973)
Physical Demands: Significant time is spent standing, walking, bending, stooping, crouching, and using ladders and other related equipment. Lifting up to 100 pounds, occasionally above shoulder required. Use of computers and computer-related equipment required. This position also involves fine hand coordination. Must be able to discern dial tone and static on telephone lines. Must be able to discern hazardous materials and have depth perception to climb ladders. Must be able to discern color coded cables and fiber optics. Must be able to carry on telephone and radio conversations. Must have the ability to access, input and retrieve information from the computer. Installs, inspects tests, maintains, and repairs intrusion detection and fire alarm detection and suppression systems in accordance with manufacturer's specifications and National Fire Protection Association standards.
**Essential Duties & Job Functions:**
+ Inspects fire alarm detection and annunciation equipment and replaces defective components
+ Repair fire alarm systems as required to eliminate all trouble signals
+ Accomplish recurring scheduled inspections and or maintenance
+ Respond to all reported troubles and correct system errors
+ Maintain fire alarm systems per UFC 3-601-2
+ Tests initiating and signal circuits, detectors, and system transmitter
+ Makes needed repairs, and checks pressure gauges on suppression system storage containers and recharges or replaces containers
