What You Will Do:
Operate a front load trash truck in accordance with DOT Regulations, Company policy, and in accordance with established standards for excellent customer service on established subscription routes or municipal territories as listed on daily route sheets, special orders, and regular work orders
Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the truck, as well as the helpers assigned to the truck
Transport and dump municipal wastes at a regulated transfer station or approved landfill
Coordinate regularly with the Route Supervisor, Dispatch or Operations Manager to ensure all stops are picked up, and to receive any special instructions as well as communicate any questions materials, overweight or oversized items
Obtain load weight tickets and sign for loads and maintains any related records required, i.e. driver's log, route sheets, work orders, special request work, missed pick up logs, etc.
Clean truck daily to ensure the vehicle meets company expectations to include cab, and ensuring that no trash remains in the truck after completion of the route
Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections as outlined in the pre and post-trip vehicle condition report
Report any maintenance issues on the vehicle condition report (VCR) and report it immediately to the route supervisor or operations manager
As well as other duties as assigned
Qualifications
What You Have:
A valid PA Commercial Driver's License (CDL Class B or equivalent) with air brake endorsement.
Must meet all required DOT physical and medical requirements and pass a substance abuse screening.
As a safety sensitive employee, all drivers are subject to random substance abuse screening under DOT and company policy.
Ability to effectively deal with customers and co-workers.
Requires a high degree of attention and considerable dexterity in the control of the vehicle to prevent damage to truck, equipment, or surrounding items.
Ability to sit in the cab of the truck for long periods. Able to bend, stoop, and climb into and out of the vehicle and body unassisted multiple times a day.
Ability to push/pull heavy wheeled containers requiring heavy pushing/pulling force.
Ability to lift 75 pounds.
Ability to work outside in all types of weather.
May be required to exit and enter truck multiple times during a shift and may be required to push/pull wheeled containers weighing up to several hundred pounds into position for pick up.

What You Will Do:

Qualifications
You Have:
Five (5) or more years of experience as a diesel technician
Three (3) to five (5) years Supervisory experience

The expertise to help guide others to successful completion of their repairs while maintaining excellent repair times on their work assignments
Knowledge in the safe operation of all garage tools, diagnostic equipment, lifts, hoists, and jacking equipment

Assist the driver with pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and notify driver of any equipment problems.
Assist the driver with ensuring the vehicle is kept clean and in a presentable condition at all times, in accordance with company standards.

Our Dunmore Division is looking for a reliable and dependable Diesel Mechanic to become a valued employee on our solid waste collection team to support our ongoing success in a family-like
The Diesel Mechanic is responsible to maintain and repair diesel trucks and associated equipment in a safe, time and cost-efficient manner in order to maximize vehicle utilization.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Repairs and maintains diesel trash trucks, cabs and trailers, and bodies of company vehicles and other equipment as necessary to maintain a serviceable fleet of trucks for the division's assigned routes.
Performs regular preventative servicing to include oil and filter changes, lubrication, hoses, belts, transmission fluids, coolant system, batteries, brake lines, brake adjustments, hydraulics, lights and electrical components, and engine components.
Inspects and tests equipment at prescribed intervals of time and usage or upon malfunction or breakdown. Diagnoses malfunctions, disassembles, inspects, and replaces worn or broken parts as required.
Performs repairs to equipment to meet standards set by DOT for motor vehicle inspections and safety standards.
Test-drives repaired equipment on-site. May drive off-site if CDL licensed. May drive a service vehicle for on-road repairs.
Uses hoists, winches, lifts, gauges, drills, grinders and hand tools specialized to the mechanical auto/truck trade.
Keeps service records, accounts for time and parts used.
Performs limited welding, bodywork and repainting as necessary to maintain equipment.
Reviews Vehicle Condition Reports and makes repairs as indicated.
Notifies supervisor of unsafe equipment and recommends corrective action.
Notifies the Maintenance Manager for all work required which is beyond the mechanics ability, or for direction when unsure of proper repair methods.
Able to work with a minimum of supervision and complete tasks in a timely manner.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Frequently works in a crouched position or on back lying on floor or mechanic's dolly beneath vehicle. Subjected to dust, dirt, wet conditions, all types of weather, grease.
Must have own set of basic mechanics hand tools.
Requires a regular valid driver's license, a CDL and state inspection license is a plus.
Willingness to accept night and/or weekend emergency service calls.
Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs.

Diesel Engine Technical degree and/or training or relative and transferable experience

Ability to read, understand and interpret technical data via instruction manuals
Basic computer skills with the ability to learn new systems and software
A valid driver's license
Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment

What You Will Do:

Transport and dump municipal wastes at a regulated transfer station or approved landfill

Obtain load weight tickets and sign for loads and maintains any related records required, i.e. driver's log, route sheets, work orders, special request work, missed pick up logs, etc.
Clean truck daily to ensure the vehicle meets company expectations to include cab, and ensuring that no trash remains in the truck after completion of the route
Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections as outlined in the pre and post-trip vehicle condition report
Report any maintenance issues on the vehicle condition report (VCR) and report it immediately to the route supervisor or operations manager
