IT Support/Network Systems Specialist

Overview:


We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced IT Support/Network Systems Specialist to join our team in Akron, OH. This is a 1-year contract position that requires working 12-hour shifts, including day and night shifts, weekends, and holidays. As a SNOC Specialist, you will be responsible for providing 7x24x365 support to our systems and networks.
Responsibilities:

* Analyze and troubleshoot UNIX/Linux server configurations and processes

* Analyze and troubleshoot Microsoft server configurations and processes

* Perform basic database administration

* Monitor network traffic, analyze network problems and performance

* Respond to alerts from system monitors and perform first-level problem identification and resolution

* Issue tickets for problem escalation

* Perform batch scheduling functions, including monitoring and execution

* Support multiple teams during event identification, escalation, and resolution

Qualifications:

* An associate's or bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline (preferred) or equivalent work experience

* Strong problem-solving and communication skills (verbal and written)

* Strong multitasking ability, including monitoring a continuous flow of alerts while performing troubleshooting and system administrative tasks

* Highly motivated, creative thinker with proven ability to troubleshoot and solve problems in a production support environment

* Network and Windows troubleshooting and administrative skills

* Familiarity with Linux/Unix operating system and commands
