Part-time Campus Safety Officer/Dispatcher

Overview:


Albion College invites applications for the part-time Campus Safety Officer/Dispatcher position, a member of the Albion College Student Development staff reporting directly to the Assistant Director for Campus Safety. The successful candidate will perform a variety of service and security functions to promote lawful behavior and protect the welfare of students, faculty, and staff within a comprehensive student development program.
Responsibilities:

* Complete responsibilities in a professional manner and provide assistance to all members of the campus community as needed

* Provide effective and thorough responses to emergencies, maintaining confidentiality in highly sensitive situations

* Assist in promoting diversity, belonging, and equity through critical and compassionate communication and strategic outreach efforts

* Possess good oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, with a calm demeanor and ability to deal effectively with students, faculty, staff, emergency response agencies, and outside constituents

* Maintain accurate records and reports, and perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

* High school diploma or GED required; associate's degree in criminal justice or law enforcement preferred

* Previous experience in law enforcement or security field preferred

* Ability to become certified in First Aid and CPR/AED required; First Aid, CPR/AED certification preferred

* Must be 18 years of age
