Adjunct Instructor - Traffic Safety School/Program (Non-Credit)

Overview:
Fox Valley Technical College is establishing a pool of qualified candidates to teach in the Traffic Safety Program. As an adjunct instructor, you will work with students beyond the classroom to ensure their success, model FVTC core values, and demonstrate commitment to excellence in program/course content and delivery.
Responsibilities:

* Learning Facilitation: Foster student learning by developing appropriate instructional strategies to meet diverse student needs and support student engagement. * Assessment: Assess student learning and provide regular feedback to help students be successful. * Classroom Management: Fulfill assigned schedule, maintain accurate student attendance and grade records, maintain instructional environment with emphasis on safety, housekeeping, and equipment security, and ensure opportunities for student/engagement evaluation. * Team Participation: Support the college by engaging with the department, as well as staying current with internal and external changes and initiatives. * Business & Community Engagement: Build and maintain ongoing relationships with community, industry, and clinical partners. Proactively promote the College and our programs. * Student Success & Support: Serve as an advocate for students and collaborate with Student Services staff to retain students, close achievement gaps, and help all students be successful. * Professional Development: Continually improve knowledge and skills in emerging trends, current occupational practices, and teaching through professional development activities, and current employment in the field.
Qualifications:

* Bachelor's Degree in related and appropriate field. * Current certification by the Department of Transportation as a General Traffic Safety, Group Dynamics, and Multiple Offender instructor. * Ability to work effectively in a team-based, quality environment. * Preparation in educational principles, teaching, curriculum development, or guidance and counseling preferred. * Teaching or training experience is desirable. * Ability to plan, organize, instruct, and facilitate quality education programs, including development of relevant curriculum. * Proficiency utilizing learning management system. * Strong verbal communication skills. * Adapt quickly to changing demands, assignments, and circumstances to meet student needs.
