Overview:
The Voices of the Commonwealth is seeking a Youth Advocate to advocate for change in the out of home care system to improve the outcomes of young people in Kentucky who experience out of home care. This is a remote position, but occasional availability on campus may be required.
Responsibilities:
* Develop and take action on advocacy goals
* Share experiences with legislators, foster/adoptive parents, social workers, and community members
* Assist in planning and facilitating regional and statewide events for young people in foster care
* Collaborate with team members to achieve advocacy goals
Qualifications:
* Must have lived in a Kentucky out of home care setting, including but not limited to foster care, kinship/fictive kin care, residential treatment, or an adoptive placement over the age of 14
* Must be between the ages of 16-23 due to Chafee program funding restrictions
