Plumbing Project Lead/Master Plumber

Overview:


The Plumbing Project Lead/Master Plumber will be responsible for overseeing plumbing installations, repairs, and inspections for the Durango School District 9-R facilities. The successful candidate will possess a Master Plumber's license and have experience in plumbing project management, design, and installation. This is a managerial/technical position with a 12-month work year, and the selected candidate will be expected to work independently, with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities:

* Supervise facility maintenance engineers on all district plumbing project job sites

* Provide technical guidance and mentoring

* Ensure all work complies with plumbing codes and regulations

* Plan and oversee the layout and installation of plumbing systems

* Review building plans and blueprints to determine materials, time, and labor requirements

* Design plumbing systems for new construction or renovation projects

* Coordinate with engineers, architects, general contractors, and local authorities

* Install piping systems for water supply, drainage, venting, gas, and hydronic heating

* Install fixtures such as sinks, toilets, water heaters, boilers, and backflow prevention devices

* Conduct inspections of plumbing systems to ensure they meet Colorado Plumbing Code and local ordinances

* Pull required permits and ensure that inspections are scheduled and passed

* Diagnose and repair plumbing issues in commercial and institutional settings

* Perform routine maintenance and upgrades to plumbing systems and equipment

* Prepare cost estimates, material lists, and bids for plumbing projects

* Manage job site timelines, subcontractors, and budgets

* Communicate with clients and stakeholders throughout the project

Qualifications:

* High school diploma or GED

* Training and certification as a Master Plumber

* Three years of experience as a Master Plumber preferred

* Master Plumbers License for the state of Colorado

* Ability to transport oneself to all properties owned by the Durango School District and to necessary locations to secure parts as needed
