School psychologist job description
Overview:
The School Psychologist is a critical member of the educational team, responsible for providing psychological services to students, teachers, and parents to support academic, social, and emotional development. As a School Psychologist, you will work closely with teachers, administrators, and other mental health professionals to develop and implement individualized plans to support student success.
Responsibilities:
* Conduct individual and group assessments to identify student strengths, needs, and potential disabilities
* Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavioral intervention plans (BIPs) to support student learning and development
* Provide counseling and therapy services to students, including individual and group sessions
* Collaborate with teachers and other school staff to develop and implement behavioral support strategies
* Communicate with parents and guardians to share assessment results, progress, and recommendations
* Participate in multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement school-wide programs and policies
* Maintain accurate and confidential records of student assessments, progress, and interventions
Qualifications:
* Master's or doctoral degree in School Psychology or related field
* Certification as a Licensed Psychologist (LP) or School Psychologist (SP)
* Knowledge of federal and state regulations related to special education and student assessment
* Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
