Hourly Interpreter (Hourly I/R/C)

Overview:
The Fresno State Sign Language Interpreters provide interpreting services for faculty, students, and/or guests who are Deaf and hard of hearing in university educational settings.
Responsibilities:

* Provide interpreting services for faculty, students, and/or guests who are Deaf and hard of hearing in university educational settings such as classrooms, labs, course-related project group activities, meetings with faculty, field trips, department-related events, and campus-related activities

* Interpret at campus committee meetings and university events, such as commencement ceremonies and conferences

* May be required to interpret in various settings and environments, including outdoors and in noisy environments

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in Sign Language Interpreting or related field

* Experience in providing interpreting services in educational settings

* Strong knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL) and English language

* Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion when interpreting sensitive or confidential information

* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
