Adjunct Assistant Professor, Music

Overview:


The Fine Arts and Entertainment Technology department at Santa Fe College is seeking an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Music to join our team. As an Adjunct Assistant Professor, you will be responsible for teaching a variety of Music courses, including Music Appreciation, American Popular Music, Introduction to World Music, Music Fundamentals, and Applied lessons in Percussion, Brass, Strings, or Woodwinds.
Responsibilities:

* Plan, organize, and deliver instruction to didactic, laboratory, and/or classroom settings to promote student success within a community college setting

* Support and promote the college and departmental missions centered on excellence in teaching and learning through quality instruction, curriculum enhancement, and timely service

* Collaborate with the Director, faculty, and peers to evaluate, revise, and develop curriculum that cultivates the mastery of course content

* Demonstrate technological literacy and innovation in the delivery of instruction

* Work collaboratively as part of a cohesive academic team

* Assist with the implementation of college policies, objectives, and functions in accordance with the SF philosophy, mission, strategic initiatives, and procedures

* Participate in departmental meetings and collegewide committees as needed

* Provide students with frequent, timely assessment and clear feedback regarding academic performance

* Develop methods that fairly and accurately assess students' progress in achieving the stated learning outcomes/objectives

* Maintain appropriate office hours proportionate to the instructional assignment

* Strictly honor the privacy and security of student records and other sensitive information according to appropriate state, federal, and college regulations, policies, and procedures

Qualifications:

* Master's degree in Music Education (MME) or a master's degree in Fine Arts (MFA) or a master's degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours in Music

* Relevant teaching experience within a community college setting is preferred

* A criminal background check will be conducted

Benefits:


Part-time instructional service will be paid at a rate of $822 per semester credit hour and $32.88 per clock/contact hour. Santa Fe College offers a competitive compensation package, including a comprehensive benefits package for eligible employees
