At Marshalltown Community College, residents of Marshalltown, Iowa, may earn a two-year degree or simply explore their academic interests. They may also pursue a dual degree with one of Iowa's leading universities. Marshalltown's academics include degrees in the arts, communications, social sciences, healthcare and business. Marshalltown also has special agreements with University of Iowa and Iowa State University. Students from these and other Iowa universities may take classes at Marshalltown and credit them to their university degree. Federal and state grants, federal loans and work-study programs are some of the financial aid programs available at Marshalltown. Marshalltown also offers dozens of different scholarships, with different criteria. They offer scholarships to students in particular majors like Dental Assisting or Education, scholarships for veterans, scholarships for first-generation college students and academic merit scholarships, among others. Those who wish to enroll in a degree program will need to complete the online admissions application and send high school transcripts or a copy of their GED. ACT, Compass or Asset test scores are also required. Applicants to healthcare programs will need to fulfill additional requirements.
