Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Instructor, Healthcare Professional Development II, to teach continuing education courses for healthcare professionals at Houston Community College's Coleman College for Health Sciences. As a CE Instructor II, you will play a vital role in advancing the institution's tradition of excellence in academics, student life, and community service.
Responsibilities:
* Teach assigned courses in healthcare professional development, including theory and clinical skills, using various delivery methods such as classroom, laboratory, web-based, or field experience. * Oversee and assist students in maintaining required class attendance and grades records, and distribute certificates of completion. * Participate in the development of new curriculum as needed and attend required pre-service and in-service meetings. * Maintain current healthcare discipline-specific skills, knowledge, and licensure/certification. * Perform auxiliary tasks, including interviewing, counseling, and orienting potential students, as well as participating in program-related surveys, research, and staff development activities.
Qualifications:
* Minimum qualification requirements for education/certification are determined by discipline-specific accreditation/approval requirements for content being taught. * Current industry licensure/certification related to course content being taught is preferred. * Minimum 60 months of work experience in a related healthcare field is required.
