Overview:
The Houston Community College (HCC) is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Library Assistant to join its team as part of its Southeast Campus. The successful candidate will provide exceptional customer service to students, faculty, and staff, while ensuring the smooth operation of the library.
Responsibilities:
* Provide general library support services, including checking out and processing materials, answering research questions, and assisting with circulation and collection maintenance
* Assist students, faculty, and staff with research and technical questions
* Maintain accurate records and perform administrative tasks as needed
* Collaborate with library staff to develop and implement library programs and services
* Provide excellent customer service and interact professionally with diverse groups
Qualifications:
* High school or GED required
* One (1) year experience in customer service in a library preferred
* Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
* Experience using People Soft software preferred
* Good oral and written communication skills
* Ability to organize information
* Ability to work independently
* Computer skills required
* Ability to interact professionally with faculty and students

The Houston Community College System (HCCS) comprises a half-dozen
